I've had to replace 10+ failed helicoils over the years and will only use Timeserts now. If they decide to repair the threads instead of replacing the transmission it may be worth seeing if that's an option. Best of luck getting her fixed and back on the road!

Ford recommends 5W-20 in the US for fuel economy in support of CAFE. Thinner oil gives slightly better fuel economy and debatably worse engine protection. For the rest of the world they recommend 5W-30 for these engines.
