I presently own a black 2014 GT Premium rag top with silver Le Mans stripes. I was at the dealer recently and the sales manager complimented me on my 'beautiful GT500'.
I hope he makes that same mistake when I trade it in.
Beginning in '66 all GT350's were available with autos, and from '67-'70 automatics could be had on GT500's. Carroll Shelby owned a 289 Cobra with a C-4.
I'd give up a testicle to own any original Shelby regardless of trans. I see no problem with an auto in an S550 GT350.
This guide is redundant....same info and selection process as Build & Price, but without the price.
Dealers and their sales reps know very little about features and options of enthusiast-type vehicles like the Mustang. The vast majority of us, myself included, will have our new Mustangs spec'd...
It sucks that those who want a base GT are forced to take the 301A for the active exhaust. The GT Premium doesn't require the 401A and on the coupe and 'vert, the active exhaust is a stand-alone option.
My 2014 GT Prem 'vert has had some mods. Got it out of my system.
I'm ordering a 2018 GT 'vert done my way. Never did that before. This time I just want a well handling, powerful, nice weather top-down cruiser.

Hitting 65 this month. I retired in April 2014 as an auto insurance claims adjuster after 34 years. Bought my '14 GT Premium 'vert immediately after and while in the middle of a divorce. It was a good trade.
Here's something else I've been doing over the last few years....
I prefer to use a debit card for everyday purchases. I have two...one debit card is associated with my checking account with a large balance and that's how I pay all my bills. I never use the card in public.
I've...
I have eight credit cards of which only two have a balance. Until a few months, all my cards were set up so that I'd be alerted of transactions over $200.
I recently received an alert from Citibank about a large purchase....over $4000. I hadn't used that card in almost a year. The hackers...
I configured a Magnetic convertible with the Black Accent pkg and it does look killer. Sterling Gray Metallic was one of my top color choices when I was looking for my 2014. Couldn't find one with a manual trans on the lots though and I bought a triple black with 401A off the showroom floor...
I agree. If I was still in the work force with the requisite daily commute and I wanted something cool to go back and forth, no doubt it'd be a well equipped EB.
My present 2014 GT prem 'vert was a retirement and divorce present to myself 3 years ago. The sticker was $44K and with factory...
According to many members here, the '18 standard, non PP GT suspension is essentially the same as a '17 GT w/PP. Apparently the '18 GT PP is stiffer and more track focused. Admittedly I have no direct knowledge of this...I'm just parroting what I've been reading here.
So by eliminating PP...
This 65 year old retiree has never owned a car that was built to my specs. I always bought from inventory and settled for a color that wasn't my first choice or for options that I didn't want.
I'm ordering this time, perhaps late 2017 or in early 2018. It'll be a GT convertible, 6 speed...
