I have been doing business with Discount Tire for 29 years,. Many of my track buddies have joined with me in their support of our fast cars. NEVER a complaint. Highly recommend them.
A great day in the rain. Car was balanced and Cup 2's were great after a warm up lap. Porsche GT4 and Audi R8 v10 no problem. BMW M3's and 4's no problem. Just love what these cars bring to the table.
The ideal is to trail brake into the turn, downshifting to a gear you want for the exit that is mustang rpm. That way when you ease onto the throttle there is torque without major up. Our cars do good at that. Less rpm's do wonders. Less chance of spinning the car. Just remember, it takes a...
Start your tire pressure, cold tires, at 34 psi, on the Preppies. Baseline. Determine your roll over onto the sidewall midway through the day. The tires have an indicator at several locations around the tire, about 3/8", down from the tread. Don't want to scuff the tire below that. You will...
I routinely go from 6th to 4th with one movement and single blip. 150mph, hard braking down to 60mph into long sweeping left turn. 2 different tracks here in the northwest. Works fine.
Earlj: love the supercharger, one problem though, 40 to 80 gives some wheel spin. After that the car is gone! You just have to be judicious in throttle application, lol.
True. I run an Eibach suspension, sway bars with Cup 2's. Not the Porsche N tire. Posted on another link at L1.24/R1.29 turns typical track day. Harness required for that.
The magazine tests the car provided. They are on different tires. To make it a fair test put all the cars on MPS Cup 2 tires. Then we can determine how they compare.
As an instructor I request beginning students leave all nannies on. The first day you won't be pushing the traction threshold all that much. If you do it will be the front brakes that save your ass. At first drive slower to learn the line, turn in, apex and exit. As you exit the turn you...
I suspect when you ran your tank down you picked up water and debris in your filter and injectors. Change filter and run injector cleaner in your tank several times. Or pull them and clean with carb cleaner. Good luck.
Interesting reading. Smash is somewhat right on the MPSS. Easy to over cook. I raced on RE71's and really liked their life on the track, as long as they did not get to hot. That hardened the compound, no stick in the dry and dangerous when wet. I now run MPS Cup 2's. Love how they last on...
