I don’t, but I’m a numbers guy. I’m constantly watching the auction sites. I’ve even built a scraper in the past to pull info from BAT. Maintained it for a good while.

Nonetheless, it’s a solid question. I do understand both sides. However, two things can be true. You can have money and you can do poorly with it.

Terrible buy by the owner. I’m sure even he would agree, even if the money meant nothing to him.

I will say this forum, and I love it, is a little odd. The auction discussions on other forums are received better and things are bit more ball busting oriented. You guys are awesome, but you’re up tight. ;)

Fair enough, I get what you’re saying. I view it like the ADM’s on the new cars. If you really want the car and have to have it right then and there (and can swing the price), then I say go for it. If you’re going to be in and out of the car in a few years, probably not the wisest move financially but some people don’t care about that piece of it.

It’s just a different animal with these lower production cars vs GT’s and Eco’s. And throw the Shelby name on top of it with the performance to match and it becomes a car that people are willing to potentially overpay for. But, in their minds, they’re not really overpaying for it

He just paid too much for a car that he thought he really wanted. He misjudged the rarity of the car. Many of the early cars had ADM's, but the 2019 and 2020 cars were discounted (in my area).

My 2019 GT350 is worth less than I paid for it. I have also paid for insurance, oil and filter(s), a battery, and four tires in 7 years of ownership. The garage space isn't free. I'd say over $12K in expenses after driving it home.

I owned a 1995 Cobra R for 25 years. I lost $7K when I sold the car. I would estimate the cost of keeping the car was over $50,000. It's an expensive hobby.

I don’t think I’m judging that guy… but it sure is interesting!
im going to drive my car, even though I know it will lower my cars value. I can live with that. I bought it to drive it, and I have one of the rarest ones made.
