How many speeding tickets have you gotten? Were the officers aggressive or being rude?

I agree, a lot of attorneys have standard or fixed rates for traffic tickets, it's way cheaper than insurance for a year and you have a pretty good chance of having it cleaned up.

I'm about a once every 18 months type guy. I've been treated very professionally...all the way to insane cops power tripping, guns pointed, civil rights violated, etc, etc. The worst I've ever been treated was a 5ft tall 90lb female cop with something to prove.

I say, get a good radar detector, a dash cam, be polite, fight every ticket!
It’s my first speeding ticket so ill end up doing traffic school to get rid of it .

I always thought a red Mustang would be a cop magnet, but somehow I’ve never even been pulled over in it, even though I do ā€œspeedā€ regularly.
Last ticket I got was for ā€œspeed contestā€, and doing 60 in a 30, back in 2004. I was driving a stock ā€˜95 F150 4x4 and racing a square body stepside Chevy.
I did win at least.

My 3rd year with my 17 GT, none yet, although I think this past weekend was the closest as I almost blasted by a highway cop.

Of course nothing is 100% but if the Leo checks anyone ahead of you you’ll know
I get what you're saying, but in both instances I was the first person to pass the Leo in the opposite direction within .5 mile, maybe more. One was around a mountain bend so unless they left the radar on the whole time there was no way to scrub enough speed without slamming on the brakes.

Regardless, just pay the system enough and it all goes away. I'm always respectful during the interaction as I know their job can suck. Both times they were mildly surprised I didn't run so I guess that helped?

Be polite and get a lawyer to fight it. It's cheaper than your insurance being jacked up. I've only had a few over the years and a few warnings. Traffic school may be an option, but only if it keeps it from being reported to insurance. YMMW with the effectiveness of a lawyer depending upon where you live.

I have Highway Radar, Waze and an R8. The combination catches 90% of cops. And each sometimes catches one the other misses. A lot of cops leave radar on all the time. I have seen some instant on and laser a couple of times, but it's still rare in Louisville, KY. Instant on if in traffic a good detector will catch when other cars are hit. The R3-R8 have amazing range. Laser, well the good news is they are stationary so there is a good chance Waze will have it reported.

I was stopped doing 120 on route 50 when I first got FRANK (less than 36 hours). Still had paper tags on....I Identified myself, and the Trooper said have a nice day and be safe. I said thank you and be safe also. šŸ˜‘

I always thought a red Mustang would be a cop magnet,
when I was shopping for my mustang my niece asked a cop she knows which color car is hardest to see on there road. He told her black is and that kind of helped me decide.

In the 90's in South Florida.....pffff wasn't a great time for me and random tickets. Back then it was 75 bucks to get a lawyer. And I was driving a Datsun B210, with a blistering 0-60mph in 2 days. In Texas I think I've only gotten 3 and a few warnings in 27 years. Randeso DS1 Radar and Highway radar app are my best friends.

I've had a bunch in my life, but recently in the Mustang over the last year, been pulled over 5 times for speeding, and gotten a ticket 3 times. I've used Off The Record to fight them and have won them all. You pay a fee (price depends on ticket) which is cheaper than the fine. A local law firm picks up your case and handles it for you, no court for you, no traffic school, no points on your license and your insurance doesn't go up. The last two times I've been going with the flow of traffic(but speeding) and I watched the cop watch cars go by him, going faster than me, and yet wait for me, and pull me over. I just call that the Mustang tax.

We have a local law office here called the Ticket Center. It's all they handle. You pay them a fee based on the ticket and court cost. I've used them a ton years ago with 100% success when I was still being a dumbass on the street.

Been driving for over ten years. About to reach the ten year mark with my Mustang.

Only one ticket throughout my "career" so far. 141 in a 70. MPH, not KPH. Texas State Trooper. It's the main reason why I used to never run radar, I would drive too fast for it to ever be useful. It has been four years since the ticket so far. Actually, the anniversary had just passed.

He definitely got me at 155. I was road-tripping to Houston from Midland, and the eight hour drive bores me. I used to routinely do it in about five hours like this. Trooper was not okay with this (understandable). The only reasons I wasn't taken to jail were:

i) No drivers around. Early enough in the morning for it to not be an issue,
ii) Not within town limits,
iii) No prior issues.

Wound up finishing this trip in six hours, due to the stop. I have the original ticket framed.

If anyone is curious, typical range when "holding" such speeds (varying between 120 to 130 mph, with bursts to 155) is around 220 miles. Surprisingly good. I was stopping roughly every hour to top up, roughly 150 miles.

Cruise control tops off at 120 mph for some reason. 120 is criminally speeding everywhere in the US, why not set the limit to 90 or something? If you're going to give me 120, at least make it 155 at that point!

Funny, I always just assumed you were a lawyer.
