I never developed the brackets for it. Everything works except whats known Sync 4 limitations or sync 4 features that don't work with the car.

I only have had a couple people interested so I'm not sure if it's worthwhile developing a kit.

Another project you may consider, is how to get S550-style gauges into an S650. Lots of people do not like screens and such, and would prefer a nice binnacle and gauges. Hell, knobs and such for the HVAC would be terrific.

Perhaps getting a beautiful set of gauges, in a real binnacle, into S650s would be something worthwhile.

It would end up being very close to the picture. So it would slightly cover the gauges and while you can turn the knobs still it would just be slightly more awkward than if nothing was directly above it.

The problem is where do you put it? The screen just sits on top of the dash so there's no way to hide the ugly backside of those instrument clusters.

If I actually developed it it would probably retail at ~$1500 or so.

The biggest limitation is 15-19's would need a new ACM if they want SiriusXM or radio presets to work. 19's may work actually I'm not 100% sure. 15-18 for sure would need a new one.

Why would anyone want this? I hate hate hate the screen in mine, it's the least intuitive control I've ever seen. Everytime I get in, it defaults to AM radio. And to this day, there's no clear way to switch to Apple Car Play and play music from my phone. Now I just hit play on iTunes (on my phone) and hope it will switch over. There's also no clear way to switch to CD. The easiest way is to press eject and push the CD back in and it usually switches to CD. Same with the climate controls. Forget trying to turn on the AC and adjust the fan while driving, I need to pull over to try to figure it out.

Why would one want more screens?

If I could do a reliable screen delete I would do it in a minute and simply have my phone on the dashboard like my 4Runner, it's way easier.

You know you're likley in the minority with that opinion? Most people enjoy a larger screen. The s550 mustang screen is tiny.

The S550 Mustang has physical HVAC controls, why would you have to pull over to adjust the fan or turn the AC on? You can hit the "auto" button then adjust the temperature. Or manually adjust the fan with the very simple physical button to do so.

Your radio must be broken, or something is broken in your vehicle because that behavior is not normal for any S550 Mustang. Mine has never once defaulted to AM radio on startup unless the battery was disconnected and reconnected. Also swapping to a CD is easy....voice command play cd. Or hit media, sources, cd. If you're in CarPlay just use the voice command it's fast and easy.

The S550 has some physical HVAC controls. You can't control floor vs dash without going through screens. Other vehicles are waaaaay worse than that.

The point is that for every person that would like more screens/tech, there's others that want less screens/tech, and definitely real physical gauges and HVAC controls that don't take your focus off the road.

And FYI, setting S550 HVAC to auto eventually wrecks the damper system inside the dash, so it's to be avoided.

The real business opportunity is NOT in after-market additional screens and such. All vehicles are being consumed by them. The real business opportunity will be retrofitting gauges and/or easy-to-use HVAC controls. Not for just us old people, but for those that want to do actual driving, and not just posing in front of a bunch of screens.

Basically taking a fake HVAC control panel, and having it utilize the existing electronic controls. THAT would be a sales winner, if it's done to look OEM and integrated.

We need to keep in mind that iPads stuck on dashes is not a thing because it's better, it's done because it's cheaper. It's a cost-cutting measure.
