Hello, I have owned my 2018 Shelby GT350 for about 8 hours now and a member of this group slightly longer. After taking possession, I drove immediately to a Ford dealership that has experience with Shelby’s for an oil change, break fluid service, coolant flush and a new battery. Strangely. When I asked the tech where the dipstick was, he couldn’t find it. I should have asked, but was so excited to drive it that I didn’t think of it until later; if he did not know where the dipstick was how did he confirm that enough oil was added during the oil change?
Anyway - I tried to check the level with the dipstick. Could Ford have put the dipstick in a more cumbersome place? Is there a trick to getting the dipstick in and out that won’t leave me in traction? And if I was reading things correctly, in a semi-cool engine (it’s 100+ outside), the amount of oil was just at the bottom hole. Should I add more until the level is clearly centered between the holes?
thanks in advance
