I’m not sure if there was particular thread for this but I am interested in upgrading to the GT350 Brembo Package. I know the front is fairly simple with just attaching the bracket. For the rear, I was wondering if it would be possible to just buy used parts? For example there’s a salvage yard near me that is selling the rear assembly for the left and right sides (Axle Assembly and Knuckles). The part I was worried about was the LH/RH Loaded Park Brake Assembly. I couldn’t find anything for the part number (FR3V-2C220-AC) but is that simply the rear calipers, parking brake cable, and bracket together or are those all different parts? If they are the same, could I just buy those separately from the kit? I’m not in a rush to get it done but would want to start buying different parts so I can upgrade for half the cost of the kit. I have provided a picture of the axle assembly and knuckle from the salvage yard. Any help with this will greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

I did this upgrade to my 2019 GTPP A10 in 2023. I put on used parts from the Parts Farm, except I put on new calipers and rotors.

I did a lot of research about the procedure and for a few missing minor parts.

The first thing I did was to exchange the parking brake cable, because if that did not succeed for any reason, then it would halt the entire project. The cable and the brake-shoe-style parking brake was kinda tricky.

It was cheaper than buying a new M-2300-Y kit, but of course Murphy came along and made available another 6g member's M-2300-Y kit for a good price, and within driving distance of me, lol. That would have been easier, but I like the fact that I have GT350 knuckles, Caliper Flexion studs, and plain Ford rotors. Also, the red calipers would have clashed with my color scheme, haha.

I also did not replace my axles, and I have had no problems with that.

It took me four days to complete everything!

I am happy with the conversion because it is much better for track days, both in performance, and easier serviceability.

Thank you for the insight! I’ve been researching it for a couple weeks just to make sure I’m able to go this route on the rear.

Lol I’ve debated getting a gt350 rear cradle as well. But I believe my best route would probably be buying rh and lh rear assemblies since everything is already connected, getting the rotors and calipers, and then purchasing the lines, cables, and brackets. I don’t mind paying the kit price but that’ll nearly cut the price in half. Lol so I’d rather take that route.

Any tips before committing to this? And do you have like a part list or should the instructions for the m-2300-y kit be enough?

Are you sure the front adapter bracket is available separately?

Yes, I used the M2300 instructions parts list to start.
Yes. They sell the conversion bracket on LMR. I’ve seen other ones too.

That’s why I figured the front would be super easy since it’s pretty much plug and play once you have the front adapter. I would like to get the rear done first and go from there.

And okay. Just wanted to make sure you didn’t need anything extra for it. Thank you!

In my case, there were rear caliper to knuckle bolts missing and it was tricky to identify the correct parts and then order them. I also needed a kit from Rock Auto for the e-brake (shoes, springs, etc.)

The Parts Farm parts were from a wrecked 40k-mile GT350, and needed some cleaning up. So I dropped off the knuckles, splash shields, and e-brake base for blasting and powder coating.

One other tip for the e-brake. You will want to procure a tool to deal with the stiff return springs. I use this (Lang Tools #379), works great. This thread discusses other members' methods for dealing with the e-brake cable and spring.

Are those the wheels you are using, in the photo of your car? Are they Ford?

Standard GT Wheels will not clear the Calipers on the Rear. The Rear Knuckle pushes the wheels out 1/2 inch due to the Shoe Brake. Another Quarter Inch also, from the spacer needed to clear the Calipers. If you use the spacer, you'll need to change out the studs for quarter inch long studs.

Whole thing will be much further out.

I assume you are addressing me, since I have the only post with a car photo.

I have 3 sets of wheels for my car.
  1. Summer tires on O.Z Racing 19x9.5" (pictured), 5/8" spacer in front,
  2. A/S tires on Ford OEM 19x8.5", 1" spacer in front,
  3. 200tw track tires on Apex 19x11", 1" spacer in front to clear the strut

All sets are "square" and require longer studs in front, and spacers. There is good clearance. The biggest challenge is strut and fender clearance when running the 11" with 315 tires.

Sorry Phil, but looking at DJ's Profile Car Photo. Says he has a '22 GT. I should have replied to him rather than general comment.

No. I have the SVE R350 (19x10/11) wheels that I’m going to put on. Bought them from someone on Facebook marketplace for a steal lol. Just have to restore them a bit but I am aware of the clearance issue of the rear for the standard gt wheels since they are 20x9s. Thank you for your insight!

OK! I'm finally up to speed. Thanks DJ for helping me get that clear.
