Thanks for the order! I'll ship it out first thing tomorrow! I'm curious how bright they are. Are you planning on going with Max on the Mach as well? And what type of lens will you go with?

Ah cool! Same as me, I figured it would be adequate for just driving around town.

But if your the adventurous type and like to do night time canyons runs like omgbuilds, Max is the way to go!

Also, a good review:

Our SS3 Max pods are SAE-compliant when aimed accordingly. They produce a very bright, focused beam pattern with extreme width. Because of that output, improper aim can create glare for oncoming traffic and may result in being pulled over. If the kit is not aimed downward correctly, use caution when driving on public roads or around other vehicles.

Thanks John!

Are the other lenses compliant as long as they are aimed properly? Or just the SAE Fogs?

Per California Law:
Cvc 24403B
"On a motor vehicle other than a motorcycle, the foglamps authorized under this section shall be mounted on the front at a height of not less than 12 inches nor more than 30 inches and aimed so that when the vehicle is not loaded none of the high-intensity portion of the light the left of the center of the vehicle projects higher than a level of four inches below the level of the center of the lamp from which it comes, for a distance of 25 feet in front of the vehicle."

At 10ft. OEM Headlights

10ft. SS3 Sport Fog SAE lens

The difference between the cutoff on the OEM Headlights and the SS3 fogs is approximately 2" at 10ft. The OEM headlight cutoff sits at 26.5" and the SS3's are at 24.5".

25ft. OEM Headlights

25Ft. SS3 Sport SAE Fog Lens

The difference between the cutoff here is a little more vague because the SS3 washes out at this distance, but it's approximately 8". The OEM cutoff is at 26.5" again and the SS3's are at approximately 18.5". This puts the upper, "high intensity" cutoff of the beam just under 4" below the center mounting height.

The fog lights on a Mach 1 HP sit at 22.5", which is also within the 12" min and 30" max installation height range.

Gathering opinions from friends and family, these lights are not blinding or glaring at all with this lens and housing combo. I'm almost tempted to upgrade to the MAX instead.

Received my kit the other day. Cant wait to put it all together. Since the front is going to be off, have a Steeda Crash bar coming. Probably going to run the SS3 Pros. I want the Max but in reality, its for looks. Lol!

In Mach1NA posts, just above the "Report" button is a link to his store Ace Engineering. Bought the light from Diodes Amazon store.

Small update, I was able to source the connectors and invested in the tool to crimp the terminals. The harness in the kit will include the connectors now for an easier install. No more splicing and dealing with heat shrink.
