Mags1 picture is from inside, normal punched hole. OP's pic is from the outside, are the holes aligned? Because maybe the punch die almost went thru the opposite side (outside). My cars in the shop or I'd check it.

So nothing caused by a rodent? I havent found any mice nests yet lol

It would take a very, very tiny rodent that could squeeze between the trunk and body when the trunk is closed. I don't think they come that small and the damage from chewing would have to be a lot larger than that little dimple.
