Had enough of aftermarket CAI & HIGH IAT's. So here's my fix.

Man I always have trouble with the simplest things. I have the big mouth and 18 JLT and at idle in my apartment garage it gets to +40* and at cruise I see +8* difference. I don’t know if the Trackspec vents have anything to do with it.

Benefit of a 120mm tune +high flow filter+ cover for no heat soaking= more power :)
(JLT gave me 22whp VS OEM stock airbox. Both on tune96oct)

You pull the air filter (stock box) on the dyno you will make just as much if not more than an JLT type open air filter. I pick up 2 mph at the track pulling mine. Cheap and effective.

Unless you are at the strip, I see this as a non-issue. Am I missing something?

You can also pull the paper out of stock filter (another member showed this) and just have basically a metal screen for track. fyi.

interesting. i wonder what the dangers are of sucking in bugs and dirt even if just a tiny bit while you're at the track?

I just put the Roush 18+ lid on my 16.1-2 * above ambient while cruising.

I was wondering if the '18 kit would fit on 15-17's. Hmm. Got some $ to spend, lol. How was install/fitment?

Way too high a risk to run w/o a filter at all unless you're all like "YOLO I can put a new engine in"
one bug entering the engine can really mess it up that bad? i would think at least one would go in even with just a few passes at sonoma raceway since we do get some bugs as the weather warms up and the track won't be open until june

Bug? Maybe not. Sand and dust? Absolutely.
well that sucks. i can't imagine any conditions where you won't have any dust in the air. of course i could just remove the air filter before i roll up to the line, then stop at the end of the track and pop it back on for minimal risk. but i'll be the asshole that holds everybody else up so probably not worth it

Not saying your going to run this all the time. Ask all the centri and turbo guys that just run screens (aka turbo guards) how much shit they are picking up...? lol

how often are they running those though and it is more of just a gamble? are guys in areas with high debris running those?
