Yeah that sucks and it is $5.00 a gallon. You could buy it and mix yourself E25-30 and get some benefit of higher octane and slight cooler cylinder temps. Mix 4 gallons per tank.
I was thinking some X-98 just for the weekends ;)

The OEM tune is based on an IAT of 100F, multipliers come into effect higher/lower than that. Most tunes will adjust the temperature scaling so that timing doesn't really get pulled (in a noticeable amount) until around 140-150F IAT.

damn E85 at my local pump is only 1.99 a gallon
We are at $1.44 for E85 here. A lot of "Sheetz" gas stations in my area are the only places to get E85. Good thing there are a lot of Sheetz around here. Along with E85, they sell E15(88 Octane) which I think is pointless.

I may try STEEDA's lid.
I still wonder if Steeda ever revised it and fixed the clip issue., It seems to render the factory airbox clips useless if needed to put the stock lid back on?

I meant a closed box besides the Steeda cause apparently yes they have issues that never got fixed.

Not fixed. Also cannot effectively run a flex tune either with it. Straight 93 or e85 should be ok but maf turbulence and idle variation is a no go for many.

Really? Wow. Is that with the insert in or out? I'd figure leaving it in would solve most issues?
Both. It's a design issue due to maf placement.

Seems like the real solution to this problem is not to read your IAT's. Most here seem to be chasing a number that doesn't have any real implications on performance.....

I'll have to correct myself, it is the same MAF housing diameter as stock, so no tune. But they claim '- Dyno Proven gains of up to 26 horsepower and 23 pounds per feet of torque', which is complete BS imo haha.
No maf changes, no tune, no power increase, no bs lol.
