People can be negative for a host of reasons.. jealousy is the biggest.. a broke mentality that judges others for having a "want" vs a need. There always going to be out there. Just be comfortable in your own skin and settled in why you own it and what you want to get out of it from a ownership experience. That is what I share with people who ask me or even give me a hard time. I tell my story (briefly) whether they agree with it or not.

I'd like to distinguish between "jealousy" and "envy".

From How Things Work:
"In fact, the feeling of envy refers to wanting something that someone else has, such as a fast car or a house in the Hamptons. Jealousy, however, is more aptly described as the fear of losing something (a lover, promotion, friend, etc.) to someone else. Jealousy is an anticipatory emotion."

Thank you.

I stand corrected... envy would be the correct word...

Ask him what Toyota is going to do when his frame looks like this:

Answer, not a damn thing.

Some interesting comments here, but I'm still worried about you blokes over there that are apparently 'goosing' your exhausts. Goose

If my friends didn't pick on me about something, I'd think they were mad at me.

I'm not gonna be modest. Having an S550 Gen 2 is still a head turner. People at work have complemented me. Others have less nicer things to say. One guy asked me "Still burning money on fuel? What do you get? 8 MPG?" I told him "Nah, it's 15 and I only live 5 miles away so I only have to fill up every other week." He smiled and and made other insults like what else is better than a Mustang. I had nothing witty to reply with and I feel stupid. What are some good comebacks for us?

If you're curious, he drives a Toyota Tacoma.
I've never had anybody insult my car(s), I don't know anybody that stupid.

Yeah, if the best thing you can come up with is a jab at fuel economy...from a truck owner no less. Sounds like envy to me more than an insult.
Exactly.
