Ford lists the base height as 54.3" and the CFTP height as 53.7". Just over 1/2" difference. I'm sure we will see manufacturers producing lowering springs with a greater drop than the Ford CFTP springs but I would rather stick with the OEM spring with the minimal drop and slightly higher spring rate.

That is my exact approach as well.

Tob, did you get your camber brackets?
Earl,
My adjustable camber plates came in and my car is at ford getting installed. My dealer called Ford Performance and they sent them. I’m still a little unclear if they do or do not come with handling package but in end my dealer and Ford performance came through and I got them

That's interesting. I'd love to see the markings on the box they came in but I sense that'll be long gone.

I don't mean to be rude but something tells me they told you that to placate you and simply added plates that were earmarked for somebody's GT350 that were never picked up. The box they were in would make it clear if that were the case.

That could be true but either way I got them and installed for zero dollars just like they came with the handling package so I’m one happy camper.

Jeff: The mechanic who installed my stuff put the boxes and plastic wrappers in the trunk. Sadly Tob , I pitched them after I got her home.

Good deal on the free parts and install, amigo and at this point, as you said, it doesn't matter whether the paperwork shows them being part of the HP, you got 'em. :-)

Do we know if the magneride needs to be adjusted to compensate for the different springs? Base and cftp have different settings/cal yes?

KB, there is no disputing that the CFTP cars get the camber plates - you clearly should get them. But trying to find one Base/Handling Package buyer that got them in a box that has a matching VIN on it has so far yielded zero, zilch, nada. That makes approaching Ford Performance about it all the more difficult. And I admit, this has gotten completely ridiculous having to convince Ford that what the head Mustang engineer said would be on the car in at least one video (with it listed and shown on a powerpoint presentation behind him), and what is listed on the loose items checklist on a sticker on the window of Base/HP cars (but isn't there), is evidence enough to somehow now get them. Again, those Base/HP GT500 owners that have received them (outside of CFTP GT500's) are actually getting plates that were meant for a GT350 buyer. This part of the program is murky and a mess, at best. Clarity from the top would help.

You can reset the ride height sensors but I don't think that will be necessary here. Beyond that, the Mag dampers themselves are not "adjustable" but you can change the calibration file in the VDM or Vehicle Dynamics Module located in the trunk - with some work. In talking to Ford Performance, who won't admit as to whether or not they may or may not be working on a GT500 spring/bar package, they suggested that as with spring kits for the GT350 that the Mag dampers/system may take it in stride without issue. Just an example, but here is the listing for FR GT350 springs that use a different rate/height than stock...

https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-5300-W

Note that it says:

  • Works with both standard and MagneRide ® suspension systems
  • Designed to work with production struts, shocks and sway bars
  • May cause slightly harsher ride when compared to stock springs
And if you look at the difference in rates between the Base car and the CFTP car the percentage difference is relatively mild. Leads me to conclude that they should work well together. Will the combination be optimized to the nth degree, as factory? No, but that's out the window as soon as you shy away from using the dedicated CFTP CUP2's from the factory anyway.

My CFTP rear sway bar came in today (thanks Bryan!) The VIN to the BJ green/001 car was used in searching for everything. Note the tag that shows the diameter (25.4mm) correlates to what is listed in the chart in the last post.

This is the way it is right now with some of the GT500 hardware - it trickles in at its own pace. I have a superb parts guy that has caught errors in Livonia (where this stuff is shipping from) that would have left me with some of the wrong parts. You have to pay very close attention to anything you order at this point.
