I have ngk plugs in my car since it has been procharged (4k miles) . The car seems to idle a bit rough recently. Is it possible they need to be replaced already? Lund says tune looks good so its not that. Can i maybe clean them and re gap them?

Usually every 20k for me. Biggest issue though is the gap widens and cant run full timing advance anymore, no running problems. I could probably remove and regap but after going through all the work of removing them I feel like I might as well just put in new ones.

It's a general practice to change out boosted plugs every 10k miles or so. I've found that I notice at about 5k I start hearing some crackling going on under load with my blown 3-valve.

These are Iridium tipped plugs. Not 1990 Autolites. I used to get 25K out of Autolites with 20psi on a 347" with 821whp easily.
With the Iridiums, stock or close to it, 50K+ miles. Boosted, no less than 25K miles. Check and regap if you need to. Plugs can last years when gapped properly each year.

See this is from a little while ago, but the easiest thing to do is pull them and look if your starting to question them. Never hurts to change them, if they don't look horrible, keep them off to the size if something happens and you cant get plugs right away when you do need them.

I believe with boosted aftermarket cars were always around 10K-20K miles changes to spark plugs. Just depends on tune and how hard you are on the car. If your racing it, then its a lot sooner...

They ran 20,000 and were still going strong on my Whipple boosted Terminator. We'll see what happens on the boosted 16 GT. Plugs are cheap. Don't skimp. 4k sounds early to change em, but just do it if you have any question.
