Doh! I went back and reread this thread and a couple of members stated these came with 20” wheels option. I guess I just overlooked that tidbit.

Hey Guys, I have recently bought the Ford Performance Strut Tower Brace Kit, and stumbled upon this thread. First off, I want to say this thread is very informative, and great write up by the OP. I went through all the posts, some good discussions.

So I have a Ecoboost Premium Convertible, to my surprise (as others had stated on here as well), my vehicle comes with the Steel Cowl Extension, but no Strut Tower Brace. What I'm trying to figure out is if I have the Extension Panel (FR3Z-63016A52-A) installed as well or not. I tried looking under the hood I couldn't really tell.

I know some other vert folks in here, had it, but they all seem to have some type of an additional package. Im just a premium.

I took some pics, and was hoping if any of you guys would be able to determine from the pics if I have it or not. Let me know if I need to take better pics!

I compared it with my GT vert.

Based on what you are showing, I do not see the extension plate.

I welcome others to check to see if they have a different opinion. One way to check is to try and gouge the lower piece with your fingernail. See if it feels like metal or plastic. If soft, it is plastic.

Here is a diagram showing the fit of the extension plate so you can verify for yourself:

Before stiffening up the springs and shocks or sway bars, I stiffened the front end by ensuring I had the Ford lower K brace, upper K brace, strut bar & extension (which the GT came with). then I added a Steeda K member lower bar to connect the lower arms just to stiffen up the front even more.

I appreciate the response. I was leaning towards your observation as well. I did not think I had it, but I could not really tell for sure. I will try out your suggestion (I feel like I kind of did already, and I remember it feeling like plastic, but I will double check).

As for the K-Member Brace Ultralite bar, appreciate the suggestion. I wonder if its worth it for us Ecoboost guys, with our engines being a lot lighter and all.

That's the easy way to get all of the PP goodies. I did the same.

Hello everyone.
I'm new to the forum. From north of the boarder.
Great thread. Thanks to the OP. Parts list and all...
I have a ‘15 GT non PP that I picked up this past summer.

I had the FP strut and k brace pack installed recently, then found this thread.
A little late or I would have done the cowl extension at the same time.
I understand the efficiency of triangulating the k brace to the cowl/firewall via the cowl extension.
What I have not seen or missed is how the k brace ties in to the cowl extension?
There must be a faster(s) or bolt(s) of some kind to tie the two together.
Any idea what the part number is for that (those)?
Regards all.

The same bolts that tie the K brace to the cowl tie the K brace to the extension panel. You need 2 or 3 additional bolts to secure the extension panel to the dash. The fasteners are on page 1 I believe...

I have installed everything but the lower K brace. How much more difference will that make? Is it worth going through the trouble to install it?

Hey guys! I took a good look at the cowl extension and saw that it has 4 threaded holes! The three at the back, and there's one forward, positioned very near at the wiper (but still at the back of the firewall).

For now, I took the bolt nearest to the red terminal of the battery, and installed it to the missed threaded hole.

So all in all I needed eight W717964-S450B bolts (3 at the very back, 5 on the front).
