No, lap times would and BJ knows them but he can't tell us and that just fuels the fire.So does this end the debate on how the weight supposedly ruined this car?
If the GT350 fit what I was wanting then yes I would buy a GT350The GT350R is just that great. That's why they were selling for such crazy prices originally, and that's why they are still not discounted. They are better than you realize and there is more demand than you think.
It's definitely not going to be better. Significantly more weight, significantly more power. With track use and the portly weight in mind, I wonder what front tire life will be compared with, say, the GT350R.....
And my car feels like it's ~3200 lbs not 3700 after completely revamping the suspension & chassis setup (I'm not saying that in jest, it does feel significantly lighter). Doesn't mean it's not still 3700 lbs.So does this end the debate on how the weight supposedly ruined this car?
You can definitely tell the difference between a ~3100 and ~3800 lb car when you drive them - especially on a rough road or on track. On smooth surfaces and at lower speeds it isn't as evident. And my car feels like it's ~3200 lbs not 3700 after completely revamping the suspension & chassis setup (I'm not saying that in jest, it does feel significantly lighter). We need like 500 more owners like @Tomster . I wonder if Ford could check which potential buyers actually run Mustangs at the track and throw in a hair more priority for them.Mine will, painted stripes and all, lol
Yea, that would be a waste to go for equal. All the FI S550 already running COTA are way past 760 crank and usually closer to 750-850 rwhp. GT500 showing up are going to be down over 100rwhp and weight 300# more so they definitely have an uphill battle.Nobody is taking a GT and making it perform equal to a GT500, let get back to reality.
That would be nice if Ford would do that but with Ford's recent record of special order deliveries everyone will be lucky if the get them before next spring. We need like 500 more owners like @Tomster . I'm familiar with many of those 800whp S550 track cars. Given the GT500s excellent cooling, aero, chassis, and tire. I'm not worried. We need like 500 more owners like @Tomster . What cars are these? Just hpde guys or time trial cars on Hoosiers?Yea, that would be a waste to go for equal. Yes. It is very much appreciated. Thanks for stopping in Billy.
And how much $ do you think is invested in them, including labor at $125/hrWe need like 500 more owners like @Tomster
