For those who traded a vehicle you loved, for an S550, was it worth it?

I traded a C6 Z06 corvette in for my 16 which I bought new. I did like the Z06 but never loved it, just wasnt the car for me. I did however love the 13 GT i sold to get the Z06. I regretted getting rid of the 13 for months until I ended up trading the corvette after only 6 months for another mustang. Now I have over $30,000 in mods on my 16 and I am debating selling it. If I do sell it I want a 13-14 GT500, which has been my dream car since it came out. Just sucks because the 5.8 engine is not an upgrade to what I have now, neither is the chassis or the interior. My 16 is already boosted with a fuel system and opg, makes over 800 wheel, and the suspension is pretty much done. The 5.8 safe spot is also about the 800-850 wheel range which is what I already have. I either want to keep my 16 and put a built, sleeved engine in it to go for 1000 wheel, or sell it and start a GT500 build. I dont know what to do.

It traded a 15 Mustang EB (with a number of Steeda mods) for a 19 Mustang GT pretty much loaded with everything but Magna-ride. Here is how much I love my 19 GT. I currently have some medical issues that make it very difficult to get in and out of my Mustang. I kept the Mustang for long trips were I will not be getting in and out of it a lot. I also have a 19 Lincoln MKC for short drives that I will be making a number of stops. If I had to keep only one, it is a no brainer, the Mustang stays.
I just traded my 15 base Eco for a 19 GT PP 401a. I loved the eco but the GT is incredible!

I don't think I could ever go back to an S197....I never developed an attachment to my GT500.

I think I'd put a built short block in what you have, personally.

When I traded a 2011 Brembo GT for my 2015 base Mustang GT, I was kind of meh about the 2015. The 2011 had 3.73 gears and it seemed crazy on the street. Very fun. The 2015 just seemed too tame. Awesome compliant ride on the 2015 GT compared to the 2011, which was nice, but the 2015 just did not seem fast.

Then when I traded the 2015 GT for a 2016 GT350 I was thrilled. The 2016 GT350 was awesome - especially on the road course.

In your position, I don't know why you don't go for something like a 911S. If you have the money, you wouldn't have to modify it, and it would out-perform your 800 wheel S550.

Im really torn on what to do, but I am leaning that route. My 16 is almost paid for, so I could just pay it off and have both haha.

I do like cars like that, but Im weird. Most of the fun for me is actually customization and the build process. I enjoy doing my own wrenching and I could never leave a car stock. Car like a 911 turbo s is cool, but just costs too much to mod. Plus my buddy has one, my car on 91 and 82mm pulley was enough to gap it haha.

I've never owned a car that I just *loved* until this Mustang. My salesman had me all over '19 California Special GT that gave me tingles when I went in for my first oil change in June. I told him if it was still there at my one year anniversary, which is April 17, I'd trade in for it. I checked last week and it's still there. Stay tuned.

Traded in an Audi A5 for 2018 Roush. Had a lifted truck before that. Both where just transportation. My boosted stang is a toy. My 15 year old giggles every time I slam the exhaust and let off so that it crackles and pops. "No Ragrets"

I traded a '08 Corvette and a '08 Cadillac CTS 4 for my '19 Ecoboost Mustang-
Both cars were fantastic and I loved them but at my age and there ages I started seeing problems in the near future and they would be very costly ones since both are/were very expensive cars. Miss them both but I really like this Mustang a lot.
Since you traded in your Vette, did you get past your mid-life crisis or did you get your young trophy wife?

I don't know if I'll ever get past the "mid-life crisis " but I've been married 43 years and she is a trophy for sure.
My mid-life crisis car was a 2006 Mustang V6. Other than two years I had a Focus, I have owned a 2010 Mustang V6, 2015 Mustang EB, and my current car 2019 Mustang Gt. So you can say I have been in mid-life crisis mode 11 of the past 13 years.

I've been in mid-life crisis mode since I was in my 20s.

Now that I'm actually mid-life, I keep waiting for it to get worse but no dice.

I traded a 2012 Mazdaspeed3 for my 2017 S550 GT , In some ways I regret it . The Mazda quality was better , it was a fun car and held its value much better .

I do like my Mustang now . I am going to keep it another 8-12+ months at least , but now looking at a C7 or C8 Vette
