I have had e85 in my 18 A10 for 2 tank fulls now. My second tank just going back and forth to work and not accelerating hard at all (no fun) I am averaging 20mpg!! I will not continue to drive this way as it is boring as hell but I wanted to know how good it could be if I tried. I'm sure it will end up 16-18mpg with the normal way I drive but I was pleasantly surprised how good it could be. In my area (Hanover PA) e85 is $2.55 a gallon. Its almost a dollar cheaper then 93 in my area. I was getting 25mpg with 93 driving like miss daisy so I think the e85 is not a bad value. You just have to fill up a little more often and deal with limited stations to fill up at. Luckily for me a station is only about 10mins out of my way when I'm on the way home from work.

Okay what am I missing here? how can "e85 be better all around V.S. a 93 tune." when the GPM is in the toilet? Depending on the price difference (location), you may end up paying more for E85, no?
Here, E85 is $2.16/gal and 93 is $3.60-3.70. It's definitely cheaper to run flex fuel, AND more fun.

My first partial tank of flex fuel, which is at E43, I'm at 11.7 MPG. Normally at around 13.5-14 for 93 and the same driving.

What is wrong? I beat the living piss out of mine and I average 19mpg on 93 octane. Easy driving I get 23'ish. That is with 3.73's...

Basically zero highway driving. 7 mile one-way commute with 7 stoplights that I hit.

If I really try I could get my 93 driving to 17-18. Highway trips I get 24-25.

Must not be beating the piss out of it then. I get maybe 15-17 on 93 and I drive like a grandpa.

Definitely WAY more fun and if your car has our tune we can set you up with our flex tune without upgrading the fuel system unless you have a blower of course!

That's great news.. Lund is writing my e85 tune as we speak.

Cant wait to get it flashed and see how she runs.

Here in AZ we don't have real e85 any more just flex fuel which is about e54-70. At the station I like with a consistent blend it's $2.69 / gal vs anywhere from 3.39 - 3.80 for good 91 ( we also don't have 93 octane here). Still get the added timing benefits of e though. Avg about 14.8 mpg street.

I've been wanting to get an E85 tune but held off since the closet is ~30 miles away (at least according to various E85 search engines). So I was pretty stoked to see this at a local Gate station a few days ago:

I was kind of thinking about an E85 Flextune ($100 revision from my tuner), and maybe doing something crazy like MAK cat deletes :)

SW Missouri E85 (70% minimum) is $2.19. 87 is $2.59.

I average between 14-16 mpg’s on straight e85. In town mainly.

Man that is crazy I never seen e-85 that high in price it is usually around 2 bucks a gallon in Detroit area. Also most e-85 pumps say 51%-83% due to colder months they lower the ethanol percentage so I have seen it at 70% here and highest I've seen it is like 87%

You will definitely want a flex tune not straight e85 based on that blend description.

There's a station off of Broadway and Val Vista that is routinely testing in the 80+% range. I use to splash blend my previous car and I tested every fill up. If it's in the area for you, I'd highly recommend it.
