Was trying to torque the upper k member/cowl extension brace bolt on the left side when the head snapped off. Luckily I was able to get the bolt body out but I need to know what kind of bolt it is.

Also I stopped trying to do the rest as they too feel like they are going to snap. I'm using a torque wrench at 26 ft lbs as the instructions say. The strut tower bolts torqued fine at 41ft lbs.

I noticed the very left bolt is trying to attach to a very thin and flimsy piece of sheet metal so I doubt there will be any issues but worried about the others now.

Ok well I went to adance auto and picked up some bolts that fit. It still would not torque to 26ft lbs according to my crappy 20 dollar torque wrench so not sure what to think here. Got to the point where it felt like last time so I just stopped.

I would get your torque wrench checked. 26ft/lbs is nothing and would be easy to get to one handed with a 3/8ths ratchet.

If you are snapping bolts it is WAY off.

Yeah, or it's broken and won't click...I've had that happen before.

It's clicking but yeah I have to wonder if it's way off. I will leave it alone for now till I get a new torque wrench.

LOL. No doubt. 26 ft/lbs. a baby could tighten. Lug nuts are 85 ft/lbs. and to me just not tight enough.

I always read that the lugs were 150 on this car for OEM wheels.

If it is really that light then yeah my wrench is fubar. Makes me wonder what I torqued the tower nuts to lol.

I was always told lug nuts should be 150 ft/lbs?
