I feel silly for having to ask this but, while checking my battery water level I placed the screwdriver on the inner fender ledge not realizing its open to the side. I heard a clunk and the tool was gone.
I tried to use my retrieval tool but no joy. Any advice on how to get it out from there or will it pop out on the road?

On the lower fender liner pop out the 3 push pins. Then bend it out of the way enough you can get your hand in there from underneath to hopefully reach it.

Thanks...so maybe I'm not the only to fall victim to this open space?

Lot of items fall victim to the black hole. Some never to be seen again. But, a screwdriver. You definitely don’t want that working it’s way out while driving down the road. Could cost you a tire and paint work.

I have no idea what you're talking about...:gossip: I've just heard of others dropping things in there:shrug:... sarcasm button. I dropped the 3 battery cover push pins in there like the 3rd week of owning.

you can also open the door and move the foam insert, but its a Pain to put back in place...
I retrieved a socket and extension that way in an apartment parking lot with no tools.

I have lost several sockets to it, Yes the wheel liner is the best way to get to things!

Having a telescoping magnetic grabber thingy helps with this car too.

They are also wonderful for places that are hard to thread bolts and screws into by hand, such as the engine cover.

I've lost a screw and two trim clips into the dashboard area. I know there are in there but I can't find them. Drives me crazy!

I was talking to a friend BlownOne on speaker phone while he was wrenching on the car. And his Iphone fell down there with me still on it. I was yelling HELP! HELP! we were busting up laughing. I told him how dark it was. That I was getting claustrophobic. Hurry up! I'm scared! He finally rescued me by pulling the pins and bending the liner out. LMAO!

I dropped an 18mm Deep Impact Socket and it was never seen again. Luckily Amazon got me a free replacement to keep my set together.

Sometimes you find things under the hood too that aren't yours. I found a knife once and a joint. Both were in different cars though.
