So are you the first to test out these new calibration changes? if so you must know what the changes are right. You expect your car to increase power on the Dyno and MPH at the track correct.

I know Whipple wants to keep th cat in the bag, but how about a couple fricken meows here.:shrug:

Whipple does countless hours of testing themselves on there tunes, I quarter my car a lot, so it was a good opportunity to see what it will do in the Quarter & on the Dyno. I can't speak on the details of the changes, all I know & can say is that Dustin /Whipple are giving the Autos some love.

Dustin is simply amazing. I have had the pleasure of helping him with something and it was a great experience. He/Whipple Superchargers is serious about keeping up with the changes and making sure their supercharger system is top of the line quality, power and performance and like he has mentioned emissions legal to boot!

The 6 speed manual will get its love as well.

I look forward to the results Chad will post (good luck buddy!) and can't wait for Dustin to fill us in :)

I'm gonna say some sort of "boost controlling per gear" or 2 step controller. If I'm right, I get a free Whipple kit.

Wonder if it changes how the auto shifts? Is the mustang tune contain both engine management and transmission management?

I talked with Whipple tech on this and boost by gear is the new upcoming Whipple guardian. Coming to all Whipple heads near you.

What exactly is boost by gear?
It limits the amount of torque to the wheels by gear because gear multiplies engine torque.
For example if your engine puts out 400ft lbs, and your first gear is 3.5:1, so the torque to the rear diff is 1600ft lbs. Now after the final drive say 3.5:1, your wheels are experiencing over 4000ft lbs to the ground. That is a lot of torque and can easily spin the tires. Say your tires can handle only 2000ft lbs without spinning. The computer dial back the throttle when when the actual pedal is pushed to the floor to make sure the torque to the rear wheel is never exceeding 2000ftlbs. Of course each gear given different multiplication will have different amount of throttle opening to ensure no spinning.
Ferrari 458 has this function from factory that it learns how grippy the surface is when you launch it so it does not spin tires too much the next time.

What exactly is boost by gear?
My understanding was that it uses throttle body angle control to limit boost and power to be programmed for each gear. Yes this is a traction control feature.
