I finished my Whipple install, took it for a spin, ran great. Shut it off, got gas, and on the way back I got a check engine light and the idle was kind of high. The code was a P0171 System Too Lean Bank 1. So I checked and my Whipple catch can was kinda loose, so I tightened it up, cleared the code. Ran great, no more high idle. Took it for a spin, went to the market, shut it off, then almost home, the same thing happened. So to simplify things I took the catch can off and plugged the SC straight into the PCV. Cleared the codes, all was well. So my car was up north, so I proceeded back to LA. 220 miles south on the 101 with the cruise control on, no CEL. Then I got home, shut it down, then fired it back up to move into the parking structure. Get into the structure, same P0171.

Any tips or suggestions? A lot of people said possibly vacuum leaks? Whats the best way to look for a leak nowadays? Still starting fluid?

Did you do a crank relearn? Would be worth a shot if the idle is funky.

I did before I fired it up the first time. Set the profile to on, fire it up, then it said blip the throttle to 4k a few times until the MIL goes off right? You think it's worth trying again?

If you did it properly once, and the MIL went off, then it's done and I wouldn't do it again.

It could be worth flashing to stock, and then reloading the tune. Then if it takes, do a crank relearn again if it idles rough.

Reflashing will not fix the issue. Too lean is normally an air leak or a damaged MAF (over torqueing).

Some have pinched the oring behind the throttle body or TB adapter if stock TB. I would look there first.

Some get a code about deenergizing a relay which is common (don't remember exact code) and goes away on its own, some require a crank relearn if getting a misfire code.

Thanks. I'll check the o-ring.

I got the deenergizing a relay right after flashing, but after doing a crank relearn it cleared up. Everything has been good minus the P0171. I'm going to look for leaks tonight and see what I can find. Thanks

all resolved. It was the O-ring on the throttle body. Whipple found it and took care of it. Thanks guys! And I got a tour of the facilities, pretty awesome stuff going on in there.:thumbsup::cheers:

Well I'd say Dustin hit the head right on the nail lol. Glad your up and running.

Looking forward to visiting the mother ship in a few weeks when I'm in Cali.
