Leather seats

Hi Guys,

I had already ordered my 2015 Black Mustang GT. While ordering, the dealer told me that, in Australia we don't have the option to choose a different leather trim. But I want to have the RED LINE premium leather trim for my pony.

Do any of you guys know a way or place to get premium leather for our mustangs, pls let me know.

Sorry krishv88 currently there are only three options available, which are black roof, over the top stripes and Nickle rims.

Currently all Australian delivered cars have no interior options at this stage.

If you want the red leather seating you will need to get it done by a third party after delivery.

Yes, Australia is being short changed over this, and added options that other RHD markets are apparently able to get but we can not.:tsk:

I made enquiries about these options with Ford USA. They explained that maybe in a couple of years the options that I identified (trim, 20" wheels, diff ratios) may become available.

At least this was better that Ford Australia.......they advised me to contact my dealer as they would know more about this. :shrug::frusty:

Just search Motor Trimmers/Upholsterers for those that do leather work. Your dealer might have a relationship with one that does interior repairs or in some cases re-trim the seats with leather.

Would cost a few thousand I'd imagine for good quality leather and done well.

It would be interesting to know if there was any difference in the seat covers between lhd and rhd....I am guessing that the controls are in the seat base sides, separate from the cover itself....both have side airbags...the rears should be a straight swap...there are a few how to's for changing out the covers on this site. Have a look if there are anything on the covers that stop them being a straight swap for ours.....there are people like Katzkin that do aftermarket covers for S550's in lhd.

There is a company in Caringbah, called 'Doyle's in car'. They are on the www.

They have an excellent reputation for doing after market leather, in different quality leathers.

They also do after market sunroofs.

A lot of Motor Dealers in Souther Sydney use them.

Sinclair Ford also use them as sometimes they have customers who want to re-trim their Focus Sport in leather.

They (Doyle's) have some specials on at the moment.

Yeah I really wish we had this option, I definitely would have got it.
Recaro's I'd really have to try first for fitment, so couldn't have ordered unseen.
