Out of interest what lead time are you giving customer for delivery if ordered today?
There are 2 of us on here both ordered within 2 weeks of each over. I have been told 9 months, he has been told March 2017!

What do you think?
If ordered beyond December 15th, lead time is 8-9 months so around August/September of next year is the rough delivery time. Ford are starting to increase production of the car for the UK market.

Where did you order your car?

I need to clarify
All Ford Stores are equal - Trust Ford stores are owned by Ford, but operated independantly, they do not get priority treatment

Current build month for new orders is May, and we are working on significantly shorterning delivery times from the plants

One or two dealers currently have unsold units delivered today - Red V8's are available from one or two dealers for january delivery

I hope that helps clarify

Wow, I wish that all ford dealers are like you guys, in these times it could even be automatically to get those emails directly to the buyers.
With Mercedes Germany you can even get an appointment in the factory a when your car is being build

Just a note the head salesman at my dealer
Ordered his personal car way before me and
His customers his has not been built yet!!
Just a waiting game I recon but I'm sure
There speeding up the process judging
By how fast mine and others built around
The same time got turned around.

I called Epsom back in Jan 2015 only to be told that they were not dealing with the Mustang and that I should contact either Colindale or Guildford.

If ordered on the 18th December, I would update you this week with the information that current builds are May and delivery around August/September. I would then update in mid February with another update to check that May is still the case for builds.

I ordered mine at the beginning of September 2015 from Vospers in Exeter. I had to pay a large non refundable deposit of ÂŁ2000 ( plus charged me to put on a credit card). Obviously, I had not had a test drive or seen a car (other than at Goodwood FoS- not allowed anywhere near it by Ford staff on he stand).I was advised at the time that it would likely be 9 month delivery. I have not had any updates from my dealer on my car - but did get a call at end of November when they had a showroom car I could look at. They were meant to call me when their demo car would be available but I had to call them to chase this up as I saw their demo car on their Facebook page- had a very short demo in the car with sales manager ( my wife was not able to drive it as she had to sit in the back as there as not room for either myself or the sales manager!). We have ordered an Ecoboost convertible & I took out the V8 Fastback as no Ecoboost demos available better than nothing though! As I have had no updates about my car, I did email Karen Batt over Xmas to just check that it had indeed been ordered & to see if there was any update ( I thought I might as well go direct as when I emailed my sales person in the past, have not had a reply). I did get a reply from Stacey Powell form Ford on New Years Eve to advise that mine should be built in January but would give me a further update on 4 January when the plant is back open after Xmas. I would say that the only way to get any information is direct from Ford ( as others have already done so before me). I used to be a salesman at a dealership (Vaixhall not Ford) & used to deal with their specialist cars (VX220, Monaro V8, VXR8) along with the usual bread & butter cars - such customers are more "enthusiasts" & i used to have to spend more time with them not only during the initial purchase but was also ongoing after delivery. I still work in a customer service industry & feel that the level of service provided by most dealers has not been of a high enough level given that the Mustang is so special & as a customer feel very excited but frustrated about long lead times & updates. Hopefully something can be learned from all of this.

This is correct Croyde, for some reason we were told that we couldn't supply the Mustang to customers in January and in around March time we were then allowed.
Was very annoying!!!
Shame as Epsom is just up the road from me.

That's an amazingly short lead time especially for a convertible, you've done well Greg C. I emailed Ford mid-Dec and got nothing back. Still looking at 12 months order to build plus shipping. Not as bad as many even then.

This should be the standard service that a dealer provides.
I update customers every month even if there is nothing to update with. I treat customers like I would want to be treated and hearing no update is better than no news at all!!!

James
I wish you were my dealer, if only you weren't 500 miles away.
