Morning all,
So I think I have finally made up my mind on going with a centri for DD on my stang. Honestly it does not take but a second at most to hit 3k rpms and only hit the track a couple times a year. So for less drive line shock, less spinnage and such I think centri will be the way to go. Car is automatic with 3.15 gears and more than likely Pro Dyno tune from Dan.

Ok so problems, website shows the paxton not avail for 2015 models. Vortech doesn't show available for Auto. Procharger doesn't show auto/manual. Other problem is Hp, I need a head unit that is capable of 700rwhp+ (notice I say capable). What is very important is the sound. I do NOT want helical gears. The 2011 paxton sounded pretty good, loved how it whined at ideal and sounds like a jet plane ready for take off. I have seen this on a couple videos of procharger on the 2015. This is a must, I want to hear it whistle and spool and such. Ok last problem is the equipment. I have heard so many horror stories already on Procharger and belt rubbing and such. So I need some down to earth honest first hand knowledge on the equipment and what I am looking for.

Thanks for the inputs from all, also tagging vendors I know for hopefully some honest answers. Derek@Lethal beefcake jayman33

I have yet to see Belt issues on any Paxton setups, we've already done quite a few paxton installs at the shop and have about 7 Paxtons coming in for stock:) (even though most already sold!!).

Tuning isn't much of an issue with the paxton either, any tuner can pretty much get this system down.

Dan will do a good job with the dyno tune however, you can also get a remote tune and with our new dyno coming in we can remote with anyone.

We're installing a similar setup on our car here shortly so you're more than welcome to come down and go for a spin to see the power delivery. It will be going on an auto 3.15 as well.

Ok so are the Paxtons running on the automatics? Are they still running the higher end head unit? What about the gears and the helical crap and such? Have any videos :headbang:

it has an engine!
A portion of the procharger guys here from what ive seen regret their purchase of going procharger instead of paxton or vortech. The paxton is the cheapest route if you feel like saving some coin.

gears don't change in a paxton car.

and we can tune an auto with no issues at all

the paxton really is the way to go on these cars.

most of our customers were dropping to the 3.6 pulley, and on a very safe tune around 620-630, with cats and 640's to 650's without cats.

but, that head unit will have 8 second potential, not to mention the 900+ hp air to air intercooler

we've been 8.7s with that same intercooler in our 2011 car

both packages are nice.

the nice thing about the paxton, is it's d1 like power, stage 2 like intercooler for about $1100-$1200 less.

everyone has a preference and we sell alot of both brands, but vortech / paxton is our best seller

We've installed a few paxtons on Autos and used remote tuning from some other tuners to get it dialed in. No videos though, this is something we're incredibly bad at doing!! :( The Paxton is still a larger unit than the V3 as well. 3.15 gears will be just fine for the street.

Exactly what my dilema is with Procharger. I have read too many threads about the tunes being really bad, which honestly the tune part doesn't bother me as I will have a custom tune. I also hear people having to grind portions because of the belt. This should not be the case and really bothers me.

Have you talked to Dan over at Pro Dyno? If you're set on using him give him a shout, he'll more than likely give you another unbiased opinion and which route to take.

We've done a good bit of work with them in the past for tuning, a lot of our local customers get their Centri's tuned by them.

To reference sound, because youtube obviously doesn't like 2015 stangs with paxton, here are 2 links that have the procharger. These are sounds that I am looking for. The last one doesn't have a loud enough whine but the spool or what not sounds amazing.

No not yet. He seemed pretty partial to procharger on 2011-14 though last time I talked to him. I am thinking of going through him only because he tuned my 2011, it was a great tune. His group also did a truck load worth of installs for me at a decent price. He is close to me and he is pretty well known. I don't know of anyone else that is close to me.
