To each their own, man... chrome looks absolutely awesome; the only time there's too much chrome is if it glares in your eyes too obtrusively or if it's in contact with your hands to burn your skin in the summertime. Neither are a problem for me since the vast majority of my driving is done at night. Call me old-fashioned -- even though I don't really consider 34 to be "old" but whatever -- but the more chrome on a car, the better.
Wow........yea we would never see eye to eye, but the best thing is we are not forced to which is why you have yours the way you want it, and I have mine the way I want it (minus the nicer radio / better sound system / ability to change the interior lighting color)

I know you didnt man........thats why I said "these guys" meaning some of the others that have posted in here

There is a difference between a logical statement, stating the obvious (yours) vs some of the blatant bashing statements that have no real backbone
Cheers then

V6...nice car...get it if you don't mind the V6 stigma, basic interior.

Trying to bring the topic back to the question

You seem mad.........you keep having to come back defending how different your not so different interior is lol

there is no arguing the screen, ive said it about 4x already........leather? mehhhhhhhh who cares...............dash trim? a bright aluminum looking dash trim? lol.........

Well the fact is that leather does look much better than cloth upholstery, regardless if you think it's "mehhhh" or not. The premium features do stand out because it's not just a big screen, an aluminum dash, leather seats, or all the other little features. It's a combination of all of those things in contrast with what the base model has (muted dash and busy console controls). It is definitely a noticeable difference to anyone who gets inside.

The premium doesn't have anymore blingy/chrome bits than the base does. They both have chrome around the cup holders, both have metal finish door handles and steering wheel spokes, both have chrome HVAC vent bezels and controls, and chrome around the gauges/shifter. Oh, the premium has metal foot pedals....super bling. The premium adds the chrome toggles, but it lacks the two additional chrome bezels that you have on your lower HVAC controls. Not really making it worse, there.

The Mustang isn't alone in metal trim, many luxury car companies still do it. There will always have to be some kind of trim surface/color used in an interior or it'll look like every car from the 80s-90s. Although now a lot of companies are going back to that faux wood shit, which in my opinion, is light-years worse than satin aluminum or chrome.

My car is completely charcoal gray on the inside without a single metal surface and a whole lot of faded gray plastic, so I think I can speak as someone without bias or previous history with fancy interiors.

those are all nice things..... features........but most dont change the physical LOOK of the interior much, that makes these guys think they are in a lambo compared to a civic when they keep referring to the "ugly looking base interior".....I mean, a switch for heat / cold does not make the interior really look any different
Geez dude, still going at it lol. You like your base v6 model and I like my premium pp v8 ok? I'm not saying you're driving a civic and I'm in a lambo. There's a difference in the packages that many people like which is why many people get it. Just bc you don't like it doesn't matter to anyone but yourself. I SAID GOOD DAY!

I will be honest; if I could keep the other things in my car, I'd probably go with the V6 engine instead of the V8 engine. Better gas mileage, just as reliable. The main reason I bought the GT were for the V8 sound (which is so muted in this car that you might as well be driving an Accord; I'll swap out the exhaust as soon as I'm out of warranty) and the "5.0" badges. But I loved the 3.7 litre engine in my 2011 Mustang, and never felt that it lacked power. Great engine.

Guess you have never had leather before so its super duper special............from someone who has had leather their entire life, knows what kind of wear to expect, the color eventually fading, etc.......especially on ford leather............leather? mehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

:)

leggo!!! Im at my desk until 5:30pm (est) and we have really nothing to do today here, I can do this alllllll day!

Ordered a 3.7

Sometimes parts of the perspective of value and appeal are lost in some of these discussions, so I'll throw in my two cents...

No matter how your Mustang is optioned, it's a stellar value, and no version is an absolute dog. All the interiors are good (at worst), and very good (at best). The car covers a very wide swath of the sports coupe market in terms of price and performance--it stacks up well against a lot of more expensive product. Anyone who has driven a 4-Series BMW, Porsche Cayman, or a BMW A5 understands how solid and well-engineered even the least expensive Mustang is.

So, as the community cheapskate, I'm pleased to report that the V6 isn't a penalty box in any way. After owning over 25 wildly varying cars, I tend to keep my cars simple now, so the lack of options doesn't irk me much. I might have been tempted by the PP if it were available, but the EB PP I test drove left me a little ambivalent about it for a commute vehicle. I loved driving the GT way too much, but again, I'm a cheapskate. I ended up ordering the 3.7.

As one who retired from stoplight racing 25 years ago, I'm perfectly happy with 300hp. Plus, I made sure that I have some amenities (051A Pkg. minus spoiler), as well as two items to make it a fun dance partner: a manual transmission and the 3.55 axle ratio. I also opted for the spare tire--I can't bring myself to squirt goo into a tire, and I can swap a tire in less that 10 minutes. Leather would have been nice, but the cloth seems of very high quality. For a commute vehicle, one could do far worse.

It used to be very easy to laugh at those who bought a "secretary" version of a pony car--and it's fine if you still do (I admit that I still chuckle at automatic sports coupe owners--nothing wrong with biases to keep discussions lively). But we all know this new era of horsepower makes even the meekest pony car a decent performer, just like I know that the newer automatics are pretty damned good (but I'll never want one).

All that said, I'm curious if anyone has posted 0-60 times for a manual V6 with the 3.55 ratio. I wanna guess low 5s. Anyone?

That's the exact spec car I originally ordered. Low 5s easily for 0-60. Heck of a fun car.

Forgetting about the interior debate, the V6 will never sound as good as the V8 with an upgraded exhaust. For that reason alone, the V8 is worth it. There's honestly nothing about this car that makes me smile more than the sound of the Corsa at WOT.

No arguing the sound........Im not even going to bother trying any sort of exhaust combo on this car after having V8s until now. In the V6 section people keep posting their different exhaust videos telling eachother how awesome they sound.........I cant bring myself to do it.....I tried to convince myself a setup or two I heard sounded good, but then I realized I was just trying to sell myself on it because I feel the mustang in general should not be quiet.

Of course the V8 sounds better. The value proposition is debatable, but we know where you personally stand--all about that sound. Very understandable.

$6K+ buys a lot of pinball machines for my collection. which also make cool noises. That's where I personally stand...
