They unsnap too easily. One came off in my hand several months ago while cleaning the windshield, and the same thing just happened to my detailer, who was all, 'Hell no, get these things replaced immediately...they will tear your paint up if they break off'! :p

Anyone else have this problem, and if so, what did you do?

:D

No issues here yet. I replaced the wipers in my wfie's Odyssey the other day and they were a bit weird, had to really jam them to get them to lock. The way they fit appeared similar to my car, so maybe that is it? Usually they have a pretty long latch on the wiper so I'd be surprised if they came loose and off without you noticing it to be able to disable the wiper before they come off?

Ha, glue crossed my mind. The design of these wipers seems rather flimsy. Is there an aftermarket version available or something? Or better-fitting blades? Gotta be some alternative out by now.

You can go to Napa Auto Parts. 60-022-pp and 60-020-pp the design is a little different and as a result they are a tighter fit.

Yea, the michelin wipers I got for my wife's van seemed really tight compared to the stock ones. If you are worried may be worth picking up a set or replacement ones, or going up to the dealer and asking them about it. Maybe yours are just off? Of course, I think a set of blades is $30-40. The hassle of setting up an appointment and taking the time to deal with it is probably worth just buying a new set.

My wipers are fine from what I noticed during/after car washes.

no glue :headbonk:

I would have to check mine to see if they seem reasonably secure.

If there is doubts, you could always get something like this on amazon, and keep it in the trunk. And if one blows off during a rain, you have a backup. Date on that is 2006, so this is a very generic part.

You were close. But Napa "Trek" were the ones that did the trick. NBH-20 and NBH-22. They have some weird clip. They are not going anywhere! $17 each.

Thank you so much, you helped immensely!

Right?!
My detailer also discovered the passenger leather door panel bubbling/pulling away a little, and the rear decklid is coming apart, so now I want to avoid touching it. He had already done some touch up work under the trunk lid where the paint appeared completely missing, but today was the first time I ever heard him curse about the poor build quality. :(

I didn't buy my car to get first class QC. For me, it was the most motor for the least money. QC / minimal warranty repair hassle is a bonus. If I wanted a very refined car with top reliability ratings, I would probably go Lexus or some other import, with a 4/6-cylinder / Auto. That said, I have high expectations for the 5.0 engine, since they use that in the wildly popular F150. My main area of concern is the MT82, but so far I like mine. Easy to push clutch peddle, and smooth shifting.

Haha...I admit the guy really struggled to install them, seemed to take way too long. My In-n-Out burger was getting cold, and that is a terrible sin.
I was quite skeptical when he said the initial ones were not correct.
In the end, though, it looks like I got better quality ones.

Don't get me wrong, I am very happy with the car overall. :)
Just a little bummed that my detailer is discovering all this stuff, though. I have had it for more than a year and never noticed these things.

Yeah the clips look totally different because they are not allowed to make the same clips as ford yet. Some 08ish Chevy trucks use the same design.
