An R at 10K over sticker is a no brainer. I know it's a lot of cash, but the R's are so rare.
I knew it was low for an R...but is it really that rare? I wish we had a few R owners chime in with what they paid for DM.

Also, does anyone know GT350 vs. R insurance rates? Id imagine the R being higher...I just don't know how much to plan for.

Dude, in all honesty and respect, those are trivial questions if you are even considering an R.

Insurance is gonna be insurance... If that is a deciding factor for you, then the real question is to track it or not. If you're not tracking the car then the possible differences in premiums don't just the added outlay, in addition to the $10K ADM.

R owners have paid from $0 ADM to $30K+ ADM... What they pay doesn't really amount to a hill of beans as to what you are willing to pay for one. I'm sure the guy that laid out $30K+ had no concerns over insurance... I'm sure the guy at $0 ADM, such as myself, cares nothing much about insurance premiums... I'm just glad I was able to get one.

You're gonna have to do some real soul-searching here man... You don't get an R and start worrying bout tires, coverage, replacement parts, etc... You just get it.

But I can tell you this, the longer you wait to decide is long enough for someone without your dilemma to come along and buy it from under you.

OMG...it could not of been said better...if I can add my 2 cent as well. IF you can get an R right now for 10K over MSRP I would do it in a heart beat.....the fact that this guy even has a option at point in the games is un heard of.......unless the dealer has been living under a rock (which I doubt) he surely knows he can or should of been able to place this car 20 times over for more.....by now...

Haha I totally hear you. Insurance isn't a deciding factor at all...I am just considering the purchase and wanted to ball park how much it would end up being. I'm sure a GT350 would be more than enough for me, but I also realize the extra value that an R comes with so hence why I was weighing the upgrade. I don't want this to turn into another ADM thread as the majority of my curiously was focused on getting an idea of insurance ballparks. I just like to know everything before I spend boatloads of money lol.

Understood, but either is gonna be a boatload of dough bro. Best get what you want if you have the opportunity and don't look back.

I can tell you this... If you pass on an R, you will ALWAYS wonder. But I'll let you ride shotgun in mine if you're ever in SC.

I agree. If you're on here worrying about the shekels you're trying to save than the R is not for you. Even though the R is extremely rare I would not consider any vehicle currently in production an investment so yes there is no way you can justify it if the purse strings are tight. And think about it if you did get the R would you enjoy it or would it be a burden sitting in your garage? Keep things in perspective, this is an expensive toy albeit a very fun one.

I am an insurance agent in Texas. Please keep in mind rates vary greatly from one person to the next and also depend on where you live, driving record, etc. I plugged in a non R VIN and also an R VIN into my personal policy and there was NO difference in my premium. Call your agent/company with a non R and an R model VIN number and have them run it would be my advise.

I really appreciate you checking that, thanks a lot! I will do so if I can find said VIN numbers lol. I might just call and ask them in general...hopefully their systems reflect both models by now.
