Hello everyone, I find myself in a difficult back and forth on whether to settle with a GT350 or splurge for a GT350R. After doing the math, I realized that the R will cost $9,563 more than the 350. I am trying to get an idea of 350 and R insurance policies. Can folks sound off on their rates and providers for both models to give me an idea?

My config so far is RR GT350 with Tech or R with Electronics, painted black roof, car cover. With these configurations I included guzzler tax and sales tax to obtain my above difference.

To me...9500 bucks for all of the extra R value seems huge to me (minus the backseat delete...but i could deal lol)

If you have the opportunity to buy either one go for it. Right now hard to find without a huge ADM.

Doing the online configurator will only disappoint you when you find out what the actual market price differences are.

I think probably half of the forum would take an R in a heartbeat if they could find one, let alone at sticker price.

Good luck finding one without a huge ADM. You're going to find that you can possibly find a non R without a huge ADM or even possibly a MSRP Deal.

I get that..but I have made calls in my area and there are some available. But I am planning on a spring/summer purchase anyway so I don't want to just get one to get one you know.

I think Im speaking for majority of the owners/potential owners here, for $10k diff, we'd get the R.

I haven't seen an R for less than $30k ADM.

If you wait till Spring/Summer, you may miss out on being able to buy one entirely (especially the R's). If you find an R as MSRP right now, you have found a jewel. Snatch it up.

If you are stuck between the idea of a Tech vs and R I think you have to consider why you would want a Tech in the first place.

If you are not going to track the car, then I would suggest the Tech. If you plan on tracking the car, then the R. The R is simply worth the $10K difference if you want the best handling Mustang ever produced and the limited availability of the R. Plus, you'd have to buy the FRPP backseat package to get the usability of the Tech if you purchased the R.

If you really have he option between the two and you can't justify the $10K R premium, get the Texh and let someone on here know of the R who wants it.

. If you have an R allocation at msrp and decide to pass, please PM the dealer info. But I really don't think that is the case

This exactly. Not sure why you would cross-shop the R and the Tech. If you're not going to track regularly it the R is kinda silly (if the price difference seems like a lot to you). If you are going to track regularly the Tech is kinda silly, since the Track pack is available. If you're mostly DDing and want a neat engine and great looking car with phenomenal capability, Tech is where it's at.

I know of one dealer that was selling a GT350 at only MSRP+1,500. But I also know a dealer that can get an R for MSRP+10k (or GT350). I just don't know if i could justify 82k + title/tags/fees :frusty:

An R at 10K over sticker is a no brainer. I know it's a lot of cash, but the R's are so rare.

Well, if you decide against the R, please share the dealer with us.
