Went drag racing for the first time ever last night. Still learning but matched up my stock tune car against one of the fastest EcoBoost Mustangs in the region on my 2nd run. Even though I bogged the launch and was probably a half second where I should have been, this is a good visual between a stock tune/turbo EB (vs) a big turbo/cobb tune EB. Fastest time for the Orange EB is around 11.7.

Here is the video

Well at least you tried. Looking forward to seeing more BT EB cars running around.

If anyone has tips on launching the stock pirelli's better I'm all ears. I lowered pressure to 24 psi in both but I couldn't get the weight transfer right

It can be overwhelming the first time. I remember my first in my FFR Cobra. It's an experience with all eyes on you at the center of attraction and under the lights. It's fun and you'll get better I did but never mastered it. I hope to get the 2.3 to the track next season just to see what she'll do.

Hey, great job out there and it was a pleasure meeting you. The EgoBoost Mustang is running Cobb/VMP Tuning calibration. We unfortunately have short little tires on it as we await M&H 275/50/17s (28"). With a little hook the car traps enough to give us mid 11s.

Your car looks awesome and by the way, although I was ahead of you, you won. I bumped through the beams as I was bringing it up on the turbo.

So, your driver mod is already growing. You didn't get antsy and jump the gun.

Hope to see you again soon.

Yep, you did a good job not getting anxious and jumping the gun. It takes practice to get a manual trans car to run good times on street tires. The summer tires will hook somewhat, just can't hit them with a hard launch.

If the weather holds out, may be at OSW with my car Wednesday night, taking a shot at a low 12/high 11 sec pass.

Try to plan on being there the 18th for TnT....lol. If I can't make it Wednesday night, that will be my next chance at making it to the track. I sent Adam some logs from earlier, so we will see what the mad man comes up with. Ran some 7.80's @ 88 at Green Cove today, so it's showing a little more life...lol.

Generally a good launch is to have no wheel spin and not bog down. You gonna have to slip the clutch a lot to get a fast launch manual. Too many people just dump the clutch but in reality you wanna slip it a bit at higher rpm.

Yes there is no doubt that drag radials will get you down the track quicker but is a half a second on a piece of paper worth $500. I debated this a few years ago and left the $500 in my pocket.

That argument can be used for anything. I saved 20 grand and just bought a Nissan Versa instead of a Mustang GT. Is that extra performance really worth 20-30 Grand? Some would say no.
