Hey guys I have a 15 GT and I have about 7k miles on the car now. I don't feel like they are hard miles but I definitely don't baby it. I feel like the clutch has been acting up. Sometimes it grabs at a weird spot on the release of the pedal. Is it time for a upgrade? How soon did you upgrade your clutch? Only thing motor wise I have done is bama tune , JLT intake and axle back exhaust. Also just want to make a point that every car iv had has been a stick and I know how to properly drive one. I feel it's definitely a little soon for it to just go out. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I am still on the stock clutch. I had my whipple installed at 500 miles and currently have 3500 hard miles on my car. No issues at all. I keep waiting for it to go but it keeps holding. I'm actually going to have it changed out in a few weeks because I am having 3.31s put in and might as well since it will be in the shop.

I have a Roush tvs blower and no issues with the clutch.

Do you still have the clutch assist spring installed? That will cause the issues you are describing (inconsistent engagement point).

I'm putting mine in @ < 4000 miles... not that it is necessary, just so I can be sure going forward that it will not be necessary.

I dont mind the expense because it would be coming at some point anyway.

No I pulled the spring assist out about a month ago

My stock clutch starts slipping at a little over 500rwhp. You might not notice it on the road since you seldom actually get to use that kind of hp. I have heard from a local racer, tuner, installer that he has not seen any mustangs clutches not start slipping at 500 and above.
