How bad was the tq loss in the 3.31? I got the 3.31 manual

I didn't think it was bad by any means.. I just noticed it. Numbers wise I think I remember it being 10ft lbs less torque but then the motor would rev quicker and higher then with the stock intake.

Im never at 2k rpm in 5th gear.... lol The only time You are really in low rpm in in 1st or 2nd gear, which are so low, that i honestly dont notice the slight low end power/torque loss.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic. Im guessing youre not but i dont want to assume.

No sarcasm. When I'm in traffic I can still pass someone quite easily even at low RPM's. Torque loss is insignificant to me at least, but my tune has been datalogged over several months and is dialed in nicely.

Thats what i thought. My buddies 302 boss, the few times i drove it Ive never felt it was lacking torque like people are exaggerating the boss manifold to be lacking.

I've had a Boss intake on my 2011 5.0 for a bit over two years and I love it. Also have 3.73 gears and longtube headers with a custom datalogged tune. The key part is the tune as a baseline tune won't be representative of the capabilities of the Boss intake. When you first bolt it on you might be disappointed but you should be patient and get the tune dialed in.

I am currently tuned by Matt Honeycutt from Redliners tuning. Was previously tuned by Gus Izzary(sp?) formerly of Steeda. The Steeda tune was pretty good, but Matt found significantly more midrange punch.

The pull over 6,000rpm up to my 7,600rpm redline is thrilling. From 3,500-5,000rpm around town I can still easily get into a lot of trouble. At no point is my car lacking for power. In my daily commute I'm below 2,500rpm 90% of the time and it drives like normal.

That's what I have been trying to tell people. You won't notice this torque loss, especially when you are smiling at the 7500+ revs.

If I'm shifting 7500+ rpm do I need to worry about any parts failing or replace anything?

Not really. If you are really concerned upgrade your oil pump gears. I'm on my stock oil pump with a 7,600rpm redline and I've been racing with the intake now for over two years, probably 25-30 1/4 mile passes and who knows how many highway runs to redline.

Hey buddy - What does your car put down power wise? How about your quarter mile times? I think you have posted this in the past, but I don't remember your numbers:doh:

No dyno numbers on my current setup, put down 438/421(dynojet) with the stock intake manifold on a crazy BBR tune and ran 12.19 @ 116mph banging off the rev limiter in 4th gear about 100ft before the stripe on the original Pirelli street tires. I've done 117mph with my current setup in worse weather but only a 12.3 thanks to worn street tires and no track prep. I have drag radials but they're on the crappy uni-lug Racestar wheels that I hate with a passion. I'm hoping to upgrade next spring to a direct drill or if the car gods smile upon me perhaps grab some Weld RTS wheels.

I've got a few videos of my drag strip runs over the years and a few dyno runs. Last time on the dyno they had trouble getting an RPM signal but I was really just there to datalog WOT runs. My original dyno pulls and 12.19 1/4 mile run are all the way at the bottom.
