2016 GT Whipple

Howdy guys/gals! I'm a newbie. I just finished install on the Whipple Kit! Has anyone used the flare programmer to install the Whipple Calibration? I'm having trouble doing it. It will not download the new cal to the car. It tried once and got to 81% then froze up and the car kept giving codes and power cutting out then back on. Jeff at Whipple is working with me on it but it seems no one has done a 2016 yet. I've heard the computers are different from the 15's to the 16's. Anyone have any ideas?

Hmm your probably in the best hands now. If something change between 15 and 16, they would be the best to answer probably.

Engineers are looking into it. No issues between 15 and 16, flash process is the same.

Make sure battery volts don't dip. Run a battery charger on low. Also make sure the laptop doesn't go into sleep mode.

Thank you sir. I just spoke to Jeff and sent a log file for the guys to decipher. I really hope to get this thing going soon! Im excited to drive it! I was just curious if anyone else has had this same issue.

I'm having my MY16 installed as we speak. They are due to do the tune today. if I hear anything I'll keep you posted. Looking forward to hearing there is not an issue:doh:

All tunes take 24 hours to get. It's important to always request the tune first.

Good news! Got it worked out. Had to switch to a different laptop. Turns out it was probably my antivirus/firewall that was messing things up. A huge thank you to Jeff at Whipple for putting up with me through out this ordeal. The freaking flys now! Just need wings! Thanks again guys!

hate this guy... so jealous I cant afford to do mine until February when im coming into whipple money... cant wait.

My car sat in my shop for almost 3 days trying to figure out why it wouldn't tune. The hardest part was looking at that pretty Whipple mounted and couldn't even start it up or drive it. But its all good now!

[MENTION=19755]dunnyrc51[/MENTION] Glad you got it figured out I pick up my 2016 GT PP from Hillbank Motorsports today with the new Whipple installed I know what you mean about having it and not being able to drive it. I've had my Whipple since end of September and didnt wget my car till 10/07 then had to put 1000 miles on it (break in miles) then had to wait till the Hillbank team returned from SEMA. I know it will be worth the wait.

Thanks! I actually won't pick it up till today. Had to wait for the tune from Whipple. Glad you got your tune issue resolved. Just in time for a cruise tomorrow with 30+ other S550's. Should be a good break in. Enjoy :cheers:
