I liked my Coyote in my '13. I personally liked the LS2 in my old GTO more for the power output, massive torque, and still carried a 7k redline (cammed)

i'm fine with the Coyote, to be honest. I'll be honest though, as much as I'd hate to go and buy a Chevrolet, I might be in the new Camaro instead of a Mustang.

I'm not a brand/model loyalist. I buy whichever is the best car performance and appearance wise.

I think if anything I avoid Chevrolet, because my father force-fed me Chevrolet this, Chevrolet that as a kid. My parents have been married for over fourty years now, and only two cars WEREN'T Chevrolets. a Cutlass Calais (no Chevy variant) and a Pontiac Vibe (no Chevy variant)
The only V8 I've ever driven was a friends C4 Vette with the L98. I didn't push it or anything, but to me, it's my opinion that V8s are such giving motors; they keep pulling and pulling so willingly, and that one did even if it had less than 300hp, so I like V8s from my short experience. :D

Much like you, I could go with either or one day when that's financially possible. My family has had more Fords than Chevys, but my first car was a GM, an '08 Saturn Astra(actually a re-badged Opel Astra, but it was a damn good compact, better than the Focus of the time). My dad had an early '00s Impala and Silverado 4x4 as company cars for a short while way back. In any case, if I could effectively vote with my wallet, my money would go to the one that appeals to me best on a performance and everyday functionality standpoint. The only car maker I have bias towards is Porsche out of nostalgia and other things, but I'm not loyal to any one maker.

Looking at both, neither one is perfect to me, as it seems one offers more of one thing than the other. The Camaro offers more performance, an even smaller footprint, and less weight. But the Mustang offers more comfort, refinement, and practicality, apparently. It's a game of compromises, but of course this is what the internet and people who haven't actually experienced one aside from looking at pictures and reading magazines have said. The only legitimate way of finding out is actually getting seat time in both and finding out for myself which one I prefer. I hope that'll become a possibility one day soon.

HUD (still confused why this isn't an option...glad to see they at least added the shift light on the 350s)

Magneride

Brembos on ALL 4 CORNERS standard

200lb Weight Reduction

Power Gain to the 450ish hp/tq mark

Active exhaust

With my track record, I will probably get a new car in 2-3 years and I am no brand loyalist whatsoever. If the stang doesn't add at least a few of the above mentioned, I doubt I will get another mustang (unless somehow I could score a GT350 lol) I worked with a guy at Ford who was on the 2018 Mustang program and he hinted that some cool interior stuff along with magneride were coming for the GTs in 2018. Keeping my fingers crossed.

What I'd like/wish to see, but 2017-18MYs instead of just 2017MY:

1. Weight Loss: Somewhere between 100-300lbs across all models(not sure about the GT350/500/ect. though).

2. Motors: Just put that damn 2.7L Ecoboost V6 in the car already! Slot it in as a middle engine with 350-375hp to make a complete and proper 4-6-8 engine lineup like the Camaro. Of course, enthusiast will argue that the 2.3 can easily match the power of the 2.7 or even the 5.0 with bolt ons and tunes. Again, that can only be done with aftermarket upgrades; something I don't think Ford really cares about, not including their own performance tunes and parts which come after the sale of a car. Also because I'd rather have 6 cylinders or more than just 4, seeing as I've had 4 cylinder cars only and would prefer something different.

3. Transmission: I didn't notice any issues with the MT-82 when I drove an EB, but if it's really as bad as I read, can we get a new manual trans, or a properly updated and stronger one in general? I also dream of a DCT Mustang, but I don't think that'll ever happen. Next best thing would be a Mustang with the awesome 8-speed ZF automatic!

4. More exterior and interior appearance options
Ford focus RS in the Ecoboost, basically a slightly revised turbo and tune and it's 345 hp on all factory parts, (Call it The SVO) Voodoo cross plane Engine in the Mustang GT, 3.5 Ecoboost out of the Ford-GT into the new Mach 1
Done
IMHO there is no business case for the 2.7 in the Mustang, it would Easily overpower the coyote with just bolt-on's and a Tune unless ford kneecapped it worse than they did to the 2.3 (Intercooler so terrible it could only have been designed that way on purpose and a deliberately restrictive downpipe)

Might already be said but 5.2 with GT350 exhaust standard on a GT :headbang: Or even better the Ecoboost 5.0 TT that's supposed to hit the Raptors as an engine option. I'd pay extra for that all day long and laugh at any Camaro... A V8 TT Mustang with a warranty FTMFW

I thought the new Raptor is going to be 3.5 V6 Ecoboost only

even in that, I don't see or understand how the mustang is any more comfortable or practical or more refined.

I'll be test driving both for sure, and while i didn't care for the 5th gen Camaro, the 6th intrigues me for some reason.

I don't think much will change for 17..sorry guys but power bump after only 2 yrs just doesn't seem practical way Ford will do things. I would say it would be more towards 18 and even 19. Ford still have the awd monster RS round the corner. 17 mustang will be the usual new color option and small stuff here and there.

Maybe DI engine does make sense tho when Ford decide to upgrade and magne ride option for regular GT.

Sorry man, Ford aint going to rest on it's @$$ while Chevy is making the Mustang look bad in all the reviews and take till Sept of 2017 to update the Stang.

This isn't the mid 2000's. Refreshes happen in the 3rd year on tons of models now. Competition is everywhere.

It intrigues you because it's a damn fine piece of engineering like the mags say and great package. Can't wait to see what Ford does next year.

RIGHT???

I mean for goodness sake, you're buying a 2 door, 2+2, high-horsepower pony car/sports car. While the newest ones are the most comfortable, practical and refined versions to date, those are still factors I personally don't even consider as a top priority, but that's why everyone's different. But I honestly think we're stretching the terms "comfort" and "practicality" pretty darn thin here.

And even then, even if people say "oh the Camaro isn't as comfortable as the Mustang", it's still more than likely more comfortable than the previous generations, and these are the people who I'm pretty sure haven't sat in one yet or simply will not out of loyalty to Ford because they somehow sold their souls to the brand, not that I have a problem with that, it just doesn't logically make any sense to me.

I'm with you on that last bit too. The 5th gen only appealed to me when I was in middle school and Transformers was the thing. Grew out of that phase, and the 6th gen has my attention much like the S550 did last year at NAIAS.

I saw this referred to as Liquid Red on a Facebook post yesterday. Would be a nice replacement for Ruby Red :)

Looks nice. I wish they'd have a metallic black and also metallic orange. the Molten Orange Metallic from the Fiesta ST would look SICK on a Mustang.
