Kind of think I'm in the same boat.... Last status update per my dealer is 9/17/15 - they put a trace in 10+ days ago. Crazy for an order from May......

This ^^^. It's pretty ridiculous.
Not to defend them, but shutting down production costs them a significant amount of more money than holding orders already out the door.

Doesn't take the sting away or make me want to go and buy one on a lot somewhere.

I was also just told no way before the end of November and they can't have me keep the loaner they have me for that long. I am going to have to explore my other options.

Bummed today

Sorry to hear that :(

I'm hoping my alternative pans out this week. If it doesn't then I may consider canceling my order and just not getting a new car at all until sometime next year.

I may buy a beater daily driver and wait for a 2016 Camaro.... Given the situation, I struggle to give Ford muy business.

I believe it's the column on the left that says field service action.

Not saying that they should stop production. The deal is that they should have a back up plan on situations like this but apparently they don't. They let the customer hold the bag for months at a time and with 0 communication and obviously they don't give a rat's ass about it. Then people want to cancel the orders and many customers are told by stealerships that they will lose the deposit.

What kind of business model is that?

That's how it is with Mark Fields in charge, since he took over things have gone downhill with customer service and shit like this is proof.

I don't know. I think when you order from the factory vs buy off the dealer's lot you knowingly take the risk that your order may suffer unexpected delays. People who place orders are in the minority and mass production factories aren't really designed for that. It's nice to have the option even though it isn't always a smooth ride. Sure, communication could be better, but in the end it doesn't change the fact that unexpected things happen. If you can't ride it out you should just buy from what a local dealer has in inventory.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat too but I've bothered the crap out of the dealer so they just want me to go away :-) .... so they are going to pull the parts off of another car in stock and swap them until the new ones come in.

What's BS is that they obviously have the parts because they haven't stopped building new cars...
Hey, Norton. Did the dealership get a go-ahead to pull parts off other cars from corporate? My dealer said they've done that before but don't think it'd be possible in this instance. I'm just wondering if corporate is going to be lenient in this case. Thanks.

thks for that, I checked and it just says"no campaign messages found"
while the owner.ford site has a recall date of Oct 26,and a title 'restraint component replacement" so stuffed if I know!
Given that its got a sea voyage of about 26 days once it escapes the clutches of Ford US I don't think the damn thing will ever turn up here
Thks for your help
Cheers
Phil

Mine never showed a recall on Etis either but it did on my Ford Owner account. It disappeared when it was released from the factory..

I agree, however, my trouble began after the dealer and Ford Customer Service moved my delivery date up by 2wks and confirmed my car was enroute. At that time I sold my daily driver to prepare for the arrival of my Mustang. Then the communication and movement of the car I ordered stopped.

That is where my problem is. I took action based on delivery dates from Ford and my dealer, now I am left without transportation and it seems as if Ford lost a $46k sale.....

The camaro is pretty nice and the interior looks awesome.

Some magazines state:

"The camaro outperforms the mustang in each and every way".
I'm actually a chevy fan - I have 3 right now. Rent the camaro before you consider buying it. As a DD you will not like it. Hard to get in an out - hard to see out of any side. It's just hard to live with..... As much as I'd like to switch to something else I feel stuck. There are not many options for convertible stick shift cars with a somewhat usable back seat and a trunk that still holds stuff even with the top down.
