^^ this thread along with other's has instilled a fear on me even though my car is either in my garage or at university parking lot or gym parking lot most of the time. I want to maybe go with something cheap but effective. I heard thieves use a electronic device on s550s to extend the signal of keyfob. Scary stuff.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I'm in a gated community but that only slows criminals down. I'm going to install security camreras and motion alarms around my home.

Last night I had the cops called on me because my alarm went off at midnight. i ran down stairs and outside my benelli M4 ready to straight blast a mo-fo. Two shit bags walking in the cul-de-sac, who didn’t live there, ran like hell. Those fuckers call the cops on me. Cops showed up. We talked the cops pinged the cell phone the shit bags called on. The cops tracked them down and did a traffic stop and found purses and personal belongings from eight people in their car. The shit bags had gone down the street breaking into cars. They had some type of electronic device that opened cars locks. Lucky for me they could not get into mine but they pulled on the door handles and set the alarm off. Guess then went down a few houses to see if someone would come out to check on the car. They saw the Benelli and decided to hall ass. I freaking hate thieves. Take someone’s property because they are too lazy to work for it… freaking hate those mo-fos

Yeah, you're right on that for sure. I honestly can't tell you how many times I've heard an alarm go off and I'm just like "someone probably hit the button by accident or something" and I never look out of the window. I'm sure there are a significant number of people who are this way.

Just make your alarm sound like one gunshot haha. Haha

it happened at home. I have covered parking, but no garage. I am investing in a discreet dash cam in the hopes of deterring or being able to at least identify the individual.

i would try to add security cameras pointing to your carport as well. dash cam wont do anything especially if they steal it.

Bringing out a firearm in CA is not a very smart thing to do. CA law has the castle doctrine but that doesn't include property outside. Bringing a loaded firearm out in public is against the law. Handguns require a carry permit and long arms have to be unloaded in counties with more than 200k residents, which SD has. If you had used it, you would have probably found yourself in a whole heap of trouble.

To the OP, that really sucks. It makes me angry just reading about it. Some people just have no respect for what other people earn.
