Wow my sympathies OP. I've had someone break the glass to steal a phone and other belongings but I can't imagine having this happen. I hope you get it fixed up even better than original and KEEP it.

Last night I had the cops called on me because my alarm went off at midnight. i ran down stairs and outside my benelli M4 ready to straight blast a mo-fo. Two shit bags walking in the cul-de-sac, who didn’t live there, ran like hell. Those fuckers call the cops on me. Cops showed up. We talked the cops pinged the cell phone the shit bags called on. The cops tracked them down and did a traffic stop and found purses and personal belongings from eight people in their car. The shit bags had gone down the street breaking into cars. They had some type of electronic device that opened cars locks. Lucky for me they could not get into mine but they pulled on the door handles and set the alarm off. Guess then went down a few houses to see if someone would come out to check on the car. They saw the Benelli and decided to hall ass. I freaking hate thieves. Take someone’s property because they are too lazy to work for it… freaking hate those mo-fos
I love stories with a happy ending.

What alarm system do you have? I have this feature, too, and I don't believe it is part of Enhanced Security, but that KARR alarm the dealer suckered me into buying (now I am glad they did). A stranger was nice enough to test mine out one night in WA. :paddle: Thankfully there was no damage.

It's such a terrible feeling to have your property vandalized and/or broken into; when I lived in a crowded apt complex I had someone knife up one of my previous Wrangler's plastic windows for no particular reason. Another time while living in NC with that same Wrangler someone broke into it, rifled through the glove compartment and ripped the console lid right off. Then fairly recently, in broad daylight while I was in the office, someone tried to break into my Rubicon, ruining the keyhole.

Hope Tyler keeps us posted on the outcome and is back on the road in a pristine S550 again soon.

Thanks for the support guys. Cars at the shop right now. Cops didn't get prints. I'm due for some good luck so hopefully the car gets fixed fast and I can be back on the road soon!!!

Wow, all of this reading has me tempted to upgrade my alarm system. Going to most likely do this next week now. Let the research begin.

^^ this thread along with other's has instilled a fear in me even though my car is either in my garage or at university parking lot or gym parking lot most of the time. I want to maybe go with something cheap but effective. I heard thieves use a electronic device on s550s to extend the signal of keyfob. Scary stuff.

Right?! This device worries me, too, and it is easy to find. There always seems to be some loser one step ahead because they have nothing better to do with their lives. I read that using the door handle to lock your car is "safer" than using your fob as you are walking away from it to avoid transmitting the signal but I am not totally sure that makes a difference. Been doing that forever, anyway.
Doesn't stop one from beating up your ride, though :tsk:

I have 2 of these. One for the house and one for the road. Mostly use the one at home :)

To the OP, good luck with the repairs.

Dang that sounds awful, sorry to hear that man. I've heard all the stories about people's alarms not going off but mine went off when I had my door closed, locked, and window down and I reached in to pop the hood so I'm not sure how it works.
