Build Week - 9/21/15 - 2016

My car shipped from the factory on October 4th and to date have not had an update from the dealer. I am off for the next 8 days hopefully it shows up soon.

Is my ETA also the 23 as Agent86 ordered from the same dealer so i assumed ours will most likely be delivered together.

Car is at the dealer. Went to inspect it and it has two paint chips. Quarter panel may have to be shot. As of now I am thinking of passing on it. Dealer did get back to me and said the only way to fix the two chips in the paint is to have the the left rear quarter panel repainted. At this point I am seriously considering passing on the car and having them reorder. Sixteen weeks worth waiting for a new car that has to have the entire rear quarter panel fixed. To say the least very frustrating.

Pictured below is the better of the two chips on the rear quarter panel.

Any opinions?

Bummer. I would either live with it or pass on the car. I don't care who says otherwise, a respray will never be the same as the factory finish. That said, I would most likely just take it anyway. Small rock chips are gonna happen. Get free window tint or something and take the car.

Wow that has got to suck, and you waited so long. I'm not sure what i would do in that situation. If they aren't that bad i would see if they would give you something in return. But respraying doesn't really sound like a great idea on a brand spanking new car. If you were to re-order and it's rushed, think only Regional Reps can do that but, i would find out a timeline on a replacement. Then make the decision to take it with chips or repaint, or re-order

At this point I might take mine with no fenders!! LOL. I would give them a chance to fix it. You may be surprised at how well they can. I have unfortunately had several cars over the years repaired (I have 2 kids driving) and a good paint guy can work magic. That being said, I would definately get something from Ford like a free scheduled maintenance plan or something like that.

Will wait to see tomorrow how it looks. They are to try and touch the two chips up and if it doesn't meet out satisfaction then decision time. What kinda sucks is this was going to be an anniversary present for the wife and I . Keeping my fingers crossed.
