What bothers me the most is Ford's sales strategy.

Does everyone remember the DIB Vert photographed near Sydney Harbour bridge around new years 10 months ago?

That was the official Oz "Launch" party for the Mustang.

So 12 months after launch, we may see a few cars trickle through before New Years this year. Maybe. Hopefully.

To add to that, prices were announced 3th March 2015. For anyone placing an order on or around this date, realistically we're looking at 12 months wait for delivery. For a car that practically grows on trees in the USA.

Why "launch" the car so far off? Why announce prices so far away from delivery? Why not secure a few more for the "Batch1" faithful and expedite them to have them here on time? It's a stupid strategy and a missed opportunity.

In stark contrast, BMW announced the M2 a couple of days ago, articles are saying BMW will have cars here by Q1, latest Q2 2016.

Let's call it more than half the wait.

IMO the Mustang is a lot more special from an ovarall heritage POV (M2 doesn't really go back to anything in BMW's past, maybe the 1 Series M...), SO HENRY HAS REALLY SCREWED THIS UP.

I hate BMW's prices in Oz, I think Ford nailed it there, but IMO it's just silly, even for Ford as a business case, to release prices so far out with the currencies going mad like they are and then literally miss the boat with the first deliveries.

It just goes to show that cars are the strangest 'commodity' on this planet, they really are.

I don't know what to feel anymore. I can't wait tho :headbonk:

Do you think it may be the line lock feature that we were told we cant have..??
It would be a touch strange if the line lock held Ford up because, oh, they've only known about it since March when prices were released.

Totally agree mate and feel the same. Then there is this crap that Ford posted to a lady in Adelaide 30th September when she asked when will there be Mustangs in Ford showrooms in Adelaide.

Ford Australia. Hi Katharine, Australia will start seeing the 2015 Mustang hit the streets from next month! Many Dealers will have Mustangs arriving in their showrooms soon and they'll be the best people to speak to. Have you had a chance to chat to your friendly local Ford Dealership about when they might expect a Mustang or two to hit their floor? Cheers, FordService^JS.

Spoke to my dealer this morning to see if he had any new shipping details.
Apparently all that type of data is now virtually embargoed by Ford NZ and they are planning some big communication in the next few days with all the early deposit payers who have a vehicle in the 1st shipment
After months of lying dormant, Ford NZ now obviously plans to shunt the dealers aside and take centre stage from here on with the Mustang publicity machine
Keep you posted with developments!

It's interesting because my windows sticker shows :

TRACK APPS W/LINE LOCK

But my etis record has always shown

Less Track Pack

So mine has shown no line lock (which is part of Track Apps) since production.

I don't trust what is on the window sticker because mine shows SYNC 3 when we know we only get SYNC 2 (also on my etis record).

Wonder if all this shit is just software (line lock etc). Not that I'd ever use line lock...

But if it's just software, I'd just put the US software on.

The funniest thing I've heard today (I mean if I wasn't laughing I would be crying) is that according to Vista the ETA for my car is the 19th December and the fucking thing hasn't even been built yet. I could be dead before it gets here.
Ian.
PS: It used to be the 21st Nov......LOL

If it makes you feel any better, I'm positive that by March '16 everyone that ordered before the cutoff would have received their cars

Track Apps are on the display, it gives you things like a gforce display and a few other things I cant remember off hand.
Track Pack, is the next level over the Performance Pack.

Hope that helps clear those up

The line lock is software based, linked into the Track Apps https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2014/04/21/mustang-line-lock.html

funny the last line ... " Racing your vehicle will void your warranty."

It would have to be software. The same with traction control, stability control, etc. I think the software is mainly Bosch, and is done by independently braking wheels in a given sequence as I am sure you know.
