Edit:
Post #41 = DIY solution to add more tilt to bottom cushion.
Post #56 = Method to raise rearview mirror all the way to roof.
I am not Justin Wilson tall, but at 6'2" I am experiencing a little trouble perfecting my seating position. Here is what I have done so far:
Here are some more details:
All I can think of to do at this point is to put thick washers (spacer bushings) under the front two seat bolts. This would provide more seat cushion tilt to support my thighs. I don't want/expect full thigh support while driving, but just to the point of full contact during full brake pedal travel.
Ideas?

I am not Justin Wilson tall, but at 6'2" I am experiencing a little trouble perfecting my seating position. Here is what I have done so far:
- Adjust the rear-view mirror stalk to position it at its highest elevation (near the roof). This is so I can see out under it.
- Lower the seat all the way.
- Pull steering column all the way out.
- Adjust wheel height down, but so that I can still see the numbers at the upper side of the tach and speedo gauges.
- Adjust seat back angle for a natural comfortable feel. Not too much, not too little.
- Tilt the seat all the way up at the front.
- Last, I adjust the seat foward/aft until my straightened arm rests the heel of my palm on top of the wheel.
Here are some more details:
- Steps 1 & 2 are so that I can see out from under the mirror. I wish the mirror could be moved up the last 1/2" available to the roof. It really would help with visibility farther up the road.
- Steps 3 & 4 are so that I can have the proper amount of bend in my elbows for better steering control. I prefer to have my wrist rest at the top of the wheel, but then there is too much bend in my legs if I move the seat forward.
- Step 5 - If I angle the seat back forward for more elbow bend, then I can't see out under the mirror. If I angle it back, the wheel is too far to reach.
- Steps 6 & 7 are where I have the last bit of adjustment. I want a little more leg room, but not at the expense of steering control, or visibility out the right side.
All I can think of to do at this point is to put thick washers (spacer bushings) under the front two seat bolts. This would provide more seat cushion tilt to support my thighs. I don't want/expect full thigh support while driving, but just to the point of full contact during full brake pedal travel.
