Edit:
Post #41 = DIY solution to add more tilt to bottom cushion.
Post #56 = Method to raise rearview mirror all the way to roof.

I am not Justin Wilson tall, but at 6'2" I am experiencing a little trouble perfecting my seating position. Here is what I have done so far:
  1. Adjust the rear-view mirror stalk to position it at its highest elevation (near the roof). This is so I can see out under it.
  2. Lower the seat all the way.
  3. Pull steering column all the way out.
  4. Adjust wheel height down, but so that I can still see the numbers at the upper side of the tach and speedo gauges.
  5. Adjust seat back angle for a natural comfortable feel. Not too much, not too little.
  6. Tilt the seat all the way up at the front.
  7. Last, I adjust the seat foward/aft until my straightened arm rests the heel of my palm on top of the wheel.

Here are some more details:
  • Steps 1 & 2 are so that I can see out from under the mirror. I wish the mirror could be moved up the last 1/2" available to the roof. It really would help with visibility farther up the road.
  • Steps 3 & 4 are so that I can have the proper amount of bend in my elbows for better steering control. I prefer to have my wrist rest at the top of the wheel, but then there is too much bend in my legs if I move the seat forward.
  • Step 5 - If I angle the seat back forward for more elbow bend, then I can't see out under the mirror. If I angle it back, the wheel is too far to reach.
  • Steps 6 & 7 are where I have the last bit of adjustment. I want a little more leg room, but not at the expense of steering control, or visibility out the right side.

All I can think of to do at this point is to put thick washers (spacer bushings) under the front two seat bolts. This would provide more seat cushion tilt to support my thighs. I don't want/expect full thigh support while driving, but just to the point of full contact during full brake pedal travel.

Ideas?

Dude, I'm 187 cm as well. I have the car for 10 days now and I feel like I already spent three years adjusting my seat. It's pretty similar to you - seat is all the way down, steering wheel all the way out, seat back is slightly angled. Lumbar seat is all the way back. I actually felt uncomfortable in the lumbar area whilst experimenting with the seat so much.

Finally I'm somehow settled. The seat itself is really comfortable, but I feel that I'm still too high, there is only few centimeters of space above my head - but there is no way of going lower unless I increase seat back angle further - which I don't want to.

Also, I feel like I need more leg support - but if I tilt the front part of the seat too much I feel like like stuck in there since my ass is lower than legs.

Also, here in Europe we don't have memory seats so no more test drives for my friends when they can adjust the seat.

Anyway, +1 here for tips for better seating. I can't actually believe how many videos on YouTube I have found on this topic. Still tho, I sometimes feel uncomfortable.

I'm 6'4" and have adjusted very similar. I gave up on leg support though and have tilted the seat back just a little more and moved it up slightly from the rear most position. I just want to make sure both hands reach the top of the wheel with my shoulders against the seat.

I care about infotainment
6'2" as well and I've definitely had problems finding the perfect seating position. I need more time with the car though.

^This.

Maybe the adjustment I need is to have my arms stretched. :tsk:

I am 6'1 (but 31" inseam) and I ended up sitting both higher and more upright than I initially expected to get a truly comfortable position. Make sure the angle of the seat back is such that your shoulders are being supported by the bolsters. That will bring your thighs down some and allow you to put your wrist on the wheel without having the seat as far forward. The seat back is still definitely angled a decent amount, but a good deal less than when I first positioned it, or how I had it in previous cars. By raising the seat up a little, you'll naturally support your thighs more, just from the nature of the geometry. I raised myself up so that I got a little better visibility over the hood (I can now see the entire hood vent). There's about 3-3.5" of clearance to my head.

I am 6'2" and weigh 218 lbs. with a 33 inch inseam. I found adjustment easy and the car comfortable. My seat is not all the way back but is all the way down.

I've pretty much done the same thing and I'm 6' 4". I don't put the seat all the way back, I have it most of the way back and the upright portion angled so I am comfortable but not leaning too far back. Bmacs comment about the shoulders is important, to do that I had to pull the steering wheel closer too. I thought it was odd at first as I have never had to adjust a steering wheel before, but it makes sense given how far back you have to put the seat in this car to fit. Once I adjust it like this it is pretty comfortable, I drive 120 miles a day too so it's important :D

Thanks, SO helpful. My detailed intro was the best I could do.

Anyway, maybe it is my 34" inseam.

I'm 6' 1" with a 32" inseam. This is the first car I've had where I can't simply put the seat all the way back.

All the way back would be fine for my arms, but I can't get full travel on the clutch.

The seat needs to be forward about 1/4 of the travel. Then the seat back is reclined a bit more than I usually have.

Definitely have to have the seat lowered all the way, or my head is up in the liner and I can't see past the mirror and the lip of the roof.

Sounds like you may have the opposite upper-to-lower-body-ratio challenge than I have.

You would like the clutch stop accessory idea that I proposed in another thread. A stop on the backside of the clutch pedal to shorten it up, where all the slack is. (But clutch-in sensor would be off.)

I've seriously considered adding the clutch pedal extension. It adds a few inches of thickness to the top of the pedal.
