Can I downgrade from MFT to a base stereo?

MFT has always been annoying but now that my sirius trial has run out it is really starting to piss me off.

Has anyone ever downgraded their stock head unit from premium to base?

You don't have to demand anything - they will send an offer to you and with no response call you. Problem is after this 6 months it goes back to regular rate unless you call, tell them you're cancelling and negotiate again (which is pretty easy but it just irritates me)

I let my trial lapse. They did send an offer soon after, but I threw it away. Called a few months later and they gave me a hard time...eventually gave in. The 6 months is for the "select" package which is a little underwhelming. For $25 I'm not that bothered, but between the sound quality and the selection I'm not willing to spend more than that.

MFT is worth it for HD radio alone. that is what I find myself listening too.

Since i have 2 cars on sirius though, I get a decent discount. It is nice to have when i do long trips.

I asked for 6 months for $25 and they ended up giving me 5 months for $25. What gives?

I don't want to pay for Sirius, I don't really use it and don't miss it. I am however very annoyed at how when I cycle through modes in the MFT it now hangs for a second when I hit Sirius, then tells me to subscribe AND sends a notification that puts up a little yellow exclamation point on the information section of the screen and forces me to go in and delete it manually EVERY TIME. Its like they are trying to annoy me till I give in a re-subscribe.

This is just terrible design for any consumer electronics.

oh, and MFT does not always come with HD-radio, that's only part of the 401a package.

If you really hate that the sirius tab shows up you could send me your APIM and I could reprogram it to get rid of it.
