What performance benefits are there for this mod and what is the tradeoff ?I like the look of the lower grill delete, not the upper will the lower help with FMIC performance?

tradeoff is that you can take debris into your radiator... Not sure if there is any benefit besides some liking the look of it.

Pro: You will get more airflow for cooling.

Con: Apparently the hood lifts at high speeds with that much airflow.
I track my car and my grills are staying stock.

Truth.

I wish the grill area was smaller for aero purposes personally, since a lot of the grill opening is blocked off by the recessed grill anyhow.

I think you could get rid of the hood lift from the open grill with the Tiger Racing hood, although it's an expensive upgrade.

I was thinking about what that would look like..stock EB upper grille, GT lower grille with cutout.

I like it! Looks good!

I have the Dusolds design grill which is a gutted GT grill with black hex mesh.

I think it's one of the best grills out there performance wise.

The OEM ducting is pretty good so those areas on the far left and right of the grill that are closed off are now being utilized to bring more air in.

Intake temperatures have also seen a nice 5% drop with the intake area opened up now.

I wouldn't delete the grill entirely, it's good to have mesh blocking the larger debris from passing through.

Deleted my lower with a GT lower, trimmed the center section out, I think it looks awesome.
I like the way your intercooler looks through that lower grill. What intercooler is that? It looks like MAP's.

Lmao oh Adam will love to hear that.

It's a CXracing meant for an E90 BMW, it fits perfect and I cut and clamped the pipes using couplers and pipes I bought. I got a ton of grief for it but guess what, at 24lbs of boost on a 96 degree day my IAT2s never went over 134 degrees, and that was after repeated WOT runs......

Is 24 pounds of boost your peak boost?
