I'm considering either the FR Touring or Sport Cat-Back. Many decades ago I owned an '03 Honda Prelude and modified the entire thing, including the exhaust. I had a DC Sport cat-back Exhaust and as you went through the gears it had this great exhaust note. Unfortunately a bit of drone on the highway which annoyed the wife on long trips. What I loved about it, was the sound it made as you went through the gears. Each gear had this back fire, pop, of the unburn fuel. Absolutely awesome. Will I get this from either of these two options? I understand the Tour version is slightly quieter and possibly the first choice.

don't hear any pop during shifting. just sometimes when you let off it will do a little pop. kinda rare though at least for me.

Eliminating the resonator alone should give you that sound.

That has more to do with the tune than exhaust.

I highly recommend the FRPP Touring by Borla. Very aggressive sounding with the windows open under throttle but never intrusive in the cabin; it just sounds really powerful. I've heard from others who have followed me that when accelerating hard it sounds like a machine gun. But really, no drone and windows up it sounds great but never annoying. Best of both worlds. Black tips look awesome in combination with the PP wheels.

Don't confuse the exhaust burping from pressure change with backfire. They are two different thing, one harmless and one harmful. Most free flowing catbacks will give you some burble on deceleration/engine braking. I haven't heard of any inducing true backfire. That's normally a timing issue.

I have heard the Touring is not as quiet as advertised. I would just go with the FR sport.

Agree that the FRPP Touring isn't even close to being quiet, especially outside the car. Whether or not the additional bark of the Sport would put it over the top, I cannot say . What I can say is that to me the FRPP is perfect. :D

Calling out OKC #1 spot after axle back install.
My 12 had a small....cough when shifting it between gears.
But I also had a tune that pop a little more than normal.

I occasionally get a few pops with my FR Touring exhaust. I love it! Aggressive when you want it to be, mellow inside for peace. I actually filmed a new video yesterday.

Thanks for all the feedback. Agree back fire was probably the wrong choice for descriptor. Burping is a better description when letting off the gas.

I wouldn't want any quieter than the Ford Racing Sport. To me has the perfect tone and it is my daily driver and I put on around 60 miles per day.

I'm running the FRPP sport on my car and I love the sound. It's even mellow when cruising which is nice when on a long drive.
