GT350 Track Pack - Exhaust Valve Modulation

Have seen a few videos where it seems the tech pack cars have the toggle switch to open/close the exhaust valves. Does anyone know for sure if the track pack has this functionality on the steering wheel as I have heard or if you have to go into the dash menu to change the valve state?

Really hope it's the steering wheel. Would be sort of annoying to have to fumble through a bunch of menu options. Or maybe the toggle switch can be retrofitted to the track pack cars too? Thanks for any info.

Doesn't the Track Pack have the same switches?

I don't see why not but I think there was some confusion as some of the test cars had the switches and some didn't.

No toggle switches on the track pack or base R. Someone said in another thread the valves open when you turn on sport mode and you can turn that on via steering wheel button (which is preferable to a toggle switch in my mind)

This is my understanding as well. Only the Tech Pack equipped cars will get the cool toggle switch. If I am incorrect, somebody in the know please correct me because I am ordering the Track Pack later today.

Modes for Moderns:
Just prior to us suiting up for hot laps in the GT350R, Ford detailed the adjustable chassis settings available in every GT350 and GT350R. There are five modes—Normal, Sport, Weather, Track, and Drag—that act on the accelerator response, the traction- and stability-control system, steering effort, magnetorheological dampers, exhaust system, and launch-control program.

Normal puts everything in its default setting and is intended for regular driving, while Sport is for “spirited on-road driving” and sharpens the accelerator, puts the shocks in their middle setting, selects the firmer of the two steering settings, and opens the exhaust to full bellow. Weather mode softens accelerator response, locks out launch control (the only setting to do so), tightens the stability-control reins, and leaves everything else in Normal mode. Track, on the other hand, raises the threshold of the traction and stability control while also opening the exhaust and selecting the firmest shocks and heavier steering. Finally, Drag activates launch control, enhances throttle response, puts the dampers into a launch-optimized setting, and opens the exhaust.

I like the switches. Maybe I'll retrofit a set of Super Duty toggles in mine.

Well, I would not mind a separate toggle, but the wheel mounted button would make it easy to shut the valves while passing police/neighbors or the sound booth at laguna.

But not so fun if it also changes the mode. Might need a standalone switch either way.

It should be easy to swap out the 3 button standard setup for the 4 toggles. It would be easier to design and build the car so both models use the same wiring harness and then this panel just plugs in. That should make it easy to swap them.

No.


Flow doesn't need to be restricted just to remove noise. The factory mufflers on the GT don't restrict power despite being so damn quiet.

Guys have been trying this for a while, one guy has a custom setup that he did because it wasn't a simple plug and play.

You can manually change just the exhaust into normal or sport, or change the mode itself which will also have the same effect on the exhaust. Unfortunately, it is not just as simple as a button press on the wheel, you have to access the track apps, scroll, then pick an option. A toggle switch is definitely quicker.

What I DID see in the source book, and hopefully someone can clarify, in that, it states you can change the default option. I would take that as you can make the valves being open the default setting. Hoping for this anyway. I'm sure I'd be closing them a lot less than I'd be opening them!

I would like to have the car in normal mode when I start it up in the morning so I don't wake the wife and neighbors and then switch to sport/loud mode as soon as I pull out of the driveway. Fumbling through the menus seems like a pain.
On my truck, I can push one button to get to loud/fast, I mean TOW/HAUL mode.

Yeah that will be a pain, if that is the case I might add a stand alone switch.
