So I finally got enough courage to cut my hood this weekend. I ended up making a stencil out of cardboard then fit the extractors in the cutout to see how much clearance i would have for the lip to hang over. Then I used a perm marker to draw the lines on the hood followed by painters tape around the lines. I just eyeballed where to put them and then measured points to make sure they matched up. You might want to pull the under blanket off and you can see where the clip holes are to get a better feel for where to place the holes. Grinding/cutting...I first started out with using a dremel but ran out of discs so then I broke out the grinder. Who ever else tries this, please do not use the grinder method, it will bubble and then crack the paint. Luckily the edges of the heat extractors hid the damage. As you can see by my pics , I missed the stock clip holes by just a couple millimeters. I don't think they would have snapped in anyway since the GT models sit down in a groove which probably is a couple mm shallower. I ended up shaving the plastic clips off the extractors on the bottom and shaving the extended plastic that projects out toward the edges so i had more flat lip to adhere to the hood. I'm not sure how the aftermarket ones lip surface are, you might have more room to work with on those. i originally double side taped the lips with 3m tape but it wasn't holding very good so i ended up using some clear heavy duty adhesive. Overall I like the way they turned out and think they complement the other black accents.
