Please Help me Decide, Ecoboost or GT!

No way a premium 2016 GT will be under 30k. This thread has me considering the GT now and I can forego the adaptive cruise option since it's more of a nice to have and won't be used often although missing out on auto windshield wiper is a bummer. I love the black 19 inch wheels on GT pp but don't want a manual now so I'll probably get the 20s on DIB. Should I stick with 3.15 or upgrade to 3.55? Does it mean that the auto transmission will shift more often with 3.55?

Got 31 mpg with my ecoboost on a recent 600 mile road trip. Was driving it like I stole it when the opportunity presented itself. Could have easily got better mpg if I drove it easier. Ran 87 on the trip. Didn't feel much difference on the butt dyno.

Go with 3.55 gear ratio, I haven't heard too many complains. I have 3.73, the only thing with those is that you go through the gears pretty quick, but it's second nature now.

This gt is the only way to experience a mustang is laughable. I've owned a few mustangs including v8s. Actually the one I felt like I got the most mustang experience out of was a 65 straight 6 that I was constantly working on. Someone buying a new gt and claiming they are the only one to truly experience a mustang is laughable and downright insulting to be honest. Anyone can experience a mustang regardless of engine choice. I don't care if they are driving a 90 lx coupe with a hundred horsepower 4 banger. Who is anyone here to say that person isn't experiencing a mustang?

I completely agree with your sentiment. If more people on this Forum had a "live and let live" attitude, there would not be all this "snarking". Social media has enabled everyone that posts here to profess that they are an "expert"...when it's pretty evident they don't know the difference between a Crescent wrench or an Allen Key, much less ever laid hands on any Mustang engine. You don't need to work on your Mustang to experience how fine a car it is, but most Mustang gearheads that I know respect all the engines. Just because I've had Coyote engined Mustangs in the past, doesn't mean I can't appreciate my present Cyclone Mustang. Just saying...

A 12 sec 1/4 is a 12sec 1/4. My buddys eb with less than 2500$in mods eats stock gts at the track. And no, that extra cash dosent get him even a base gt, he got his base eb pp for 25,600. And bas gts were (and still are) at 32k at best.
So i think theres plenty of caffeine to be had from them, unless youre one of those v8 sound guys, in which case youre beyond help..

Wouldnt go so far as to say the v8 is a bad buy, the coyote five o is a beast, is just that i wouldnt be dismissive of the humble eb. Theres already one making 500 non laggy hp on stock internals for about the price of a premium pp gt (less actually).

Before you spend several thousand in mods for the ecoboost I'd encourage that person to go to the dealership and get yourself a gt. I bought my ecoboost for mpg and it's pretty quick. Before I mod it to hell I'll go get me a gt if being fast was important to me. If you bought the ecoboost to mod it and make it fast you've made a mistake. If you bought it because it's pretty fast, gets great mpg, and you like turbo sounds you did it right.

In reality, there is no right or wrong here. One person's idea of fast isn't the same as another's.

Some of us would have to make too many sacrifices for the GT.
In my case
25,155 for My EB vs 33,050 for a GT (pm = per month)
Loan: EB: $369pm, GT: $487pm +$118pm is doable
Insurance EB:$157pm GT: 210pm +$53 =+$171pm not bad but I'm starting to fell a pinch at my salary level
Now here is the kicker, I drive ALOT, I put 28,000 miles on my Lexus last year. so lets say 2300 miles a month. I live in Germany and am allowed 400 Liters (a bit more than 100 gallons per month) at American Prices, I tend to use nearly every drop in my Lexus, I would surely be well over in a GT and it's $8 a gallon in Germany!
EB 2300m/26 mpg = 88.46 gallons per month * $3.534 per gallon = $313pm
GT 2300m/19 mpg = 121.05 gallons per month 100*3.534+21*8= $522pm or
$209pm more than the ecoboost
I save $380 a month with the eco which is not chump change.

The GT is not a bad buy, Hell you can get a base GT and throw on a supercharger and have a 650 hp supercar for 40K.
That being said, I have seen enough 500-600 hp 4 bangers in S13s - S15s to know the EB mustang will not be a slouch.
With the $4560 I save per year I can get some nice mods too.

TLDR?
If you can afford a GT go for it.
If you are using it as a daily and money is tight, the EB and V6 are very valid options, Don't let people with money knock you because you are not wealthy.

it's pretty obvious that you should buy a fully loaded EB. you don't need our approval for it. just do it. you'll be in a new car in 3 years anyway if you regret your purchase. it isn't that long of a stretch and isnt the end of the world. what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger.
