When I carry my pistol its usually about the same position as my front pocket (right side) so when I'm driving I remove the pistol from my holster so it's not digging into my leg. Have any of you found a good mounting place for yours if you take it out of your holster while driving?
I have tried keeping it located mid back/center but that's even worse when driving.
Ideas would be greatly appreciated

There does not seem to be a good place on the body to keep it and be able to access it quick except maybe a shoulder holster on the left side.

I now use an Uncle Mike's belt pouch in the driver door pocket. Not real convenient for fast access but better than leaving it at home.

I keep it in the center console while driving, and a spare magazine in the sunglasses holder. If I'm in a bad area I keep the console open to get to it quicker if needed. And one in the ankle holster just in case, which is real easy to get to in a vehicle. :D

I have been looking into "under the steering wheel" mounts, could be a good option? In my Regal I just keep it in between the seat and center council, it's a tight fit and I don't care if it scuffs it up.

Glovebox carries the full size. Drivers door will have to do for now for my LC9s. I can carry it in small of the back without too much discomfort.

always spoiled from my last two vehicles, my holster would fit in the door compartment, but in the stang now, only the glove box can fit it. Wish I had the enhanced security package

I usually stick my Kimber in the area in the lower part of the door. The only thing that bothers me just a little about that is that I am right handed. So it would be bit awkward to get it out in a hurry if I ever had to do so.

If I have to go into a place that won't allow guns, I put it in the console since it locks with the remotes (if you have enhanced security package).

Is that in the holster? May try that out, I am also right handed. I have a small safe in my DD that is locked to the car with a cable if I need to leave it behind. Wonder how strong the lock is on the mustang center console? I have a real problem leaving it behind!

This debate is so out of European understanding. Gun rules here are much more strict.

Sorry about being off topic, but were you guys ever forced to use it or take it out? I've only been to California few times so I don't know how people actually perceive guns in the rest of the country.

I rarely go anywhere without it. CA was a lot more difficult with their ridiculous laws until just recently (extremely difficult to get a concealed carry permit). VA is a lot more relaxed thankfully.

I've never had to use it on a person, but I have been ambushed by a wild hog twice.

I carry mine only when in the woods, but always have one in the truck and car. I'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

What does the enhanced security package include?

Always carry with one in the chamber. I have had to draw on someone but have never fired at someone state side. Now over seas thats a whole different story. Was in the Kunar my fist deployment and we wear in contact evey damn day.

As to what I do with it in car I just put it in map pocket on door. (I'm left handed so ot works for me. I know others it might not be easy. Then when I get out it goes back in my IWB holster aND along I got

The steering column mounted holsters look pretty cool. Are they 100% concealed from view, in Florida everything must be concealed. If a cop came up to the window to issue a ticket and started shining his light around, depending on the car could make for an interesting situation.

I carry everywhere. Made my girl get a permit and she carries her's everywhere too.
