So last night, I was handed a large soda at a drive thru that had a crack in the side of the cup. I didn't notice til I made it home 10 minutes later and half of the drink had leaked into my cupholders. About 1 1/2 inches were standing so I soaked that up, pulled up the bottom liner and soaked some out of the key sensor pocket.

I went ahead and pulled the console last night to find all the wiring harnesses and insulation were quite wet. Dried it as best I could then cleaned the harnesses the best I could with Qtips and rubbing alcohol. Also cleaned the key sensor and underside of cupholders with rubbing alcohol as well.

I reassembled and drove it this morning with no issues with any electronics. My question now is, what should I be on the lookout for that could fail from those harnesses in the center console? Also, any additional cleaning advice would be great, I don't mind ripping more out if I need to now that it's daylight.

Were any connections directly soaked? If not, I wouldn’t give it a second thought. Sounds like you did everything correct to remove any moisture.

These harnesses were wet by the time I got to them. I'm not sure how much soda made it onto them, may have just been a little but the insulation soaked up most of it. I got what I could with a towel then went over the connectors with Qtips and rubbing alchohol. Here's a picture of what I found just after opening the center. Hard to tell what's wet though...

May call your dealer and see if they would recommend di-electric grease on all those connections. I'm not a mechanic or electrician but use the stuff on my trailer connections to my trucks 7 way plugs

If everything is working fine now, just leave it alone. The more you do now, the more likely something will go south on you.

At best, I'd pull the connectors apart, clean the contacts, and use some dielectric grease in them plugging them back together.

This happens all the time, every day. It probably would have been fine just cleaning the mess and leaving everything else alone. Don't worry too much about it.

Ahhh, yeah dielectric grease does sound like the best option if I touch it again. I've only used it in outdoor wiring once (I work in IT) but it works well. I think I may have even seen a little grease on the connector for the Keyfob Sensor, which makes sense with it being attached to the cupholders.

Thanks for all your input everyone! Saving me some worry for sure.

And I would only apply the grease if you take it back apart because likely if any damage done is done.
