Sounds like the car felt like a lot more than 525 horsepower for some reason. He knows what to expect from a 525 hp power level.

Whether it is a good amount lighter than the GT or another reason, he was definitely taken by surprise. Even shifting to HIGHER gear, she went sideways a bit.

This is all so... Very exciting. LOL
I was thinking about this too. I could see their being a few unique things.

Carbon fiber wheels will accelerate like nobody's business.

And I'm sure it wasn't that warm in the UK that day and most of the road was in shade and there wasn't much heat in the tires.

I wonder whether that sudden torque increase in the middle of the RPM range also caught him out a little. I notice the Coyote does that too. There's a certain RPM band - maybe where the cam timing is changed a certain way - that you feel a strong surge of power come on. If you've never driven the car it will surprise you.

I don't that that's a real thing, just the funky graphic with the wrong scales.

In his interview today Stig said he wasn't allowed to do timed runs - which is a shame, because from Molecombe to the Flint wall it looked really quick (on TV at least) - up there with the real exotic stuff

I think there would be many more crashes there if their runs were timed.

???

Why do people have a problem with NOT providing information, or links to what they are talking about...?
Yeah I know what you mean. I searched and couldn't find it.

Bruce Jones: Ben Collins, ... lots of amazing new cars and you're lucky enough to drive the Mustang GT350, the way you arrived in the top paddock, there's a fair bit of performance there.

Ben Collins: I think I'm the luckiest, yeah it's great. I'm now one with this car and having a great time. So first time in it yesterday, I've done my two runs, and one this morning and the track's just got more grippy and this car is just eating it up. Really its just a great toy, corners just like its on rails, but when you really dump the clutch its got so much power you can drift it pretty much anywhere.

Bruce Jones: You talked about the hill rubbering up, of course a lot of people are competing in the timed shootout on Sunday afternoon, how much more rubber is going down because up here it seems awash in the stuff?

Ben Collins: A bit jealous they are doing timed runs and we don't get to in this, I think this would score very highly. But yeah it cleaned up a lot, I started on brand new tires so I had the silicone on them and that was super greasy, so I had my own little almost like a wet lap first one yesterday. But it is changing, we've washed off all the grime and there is a big difference. I'm feeling 10 to 15 mile an hour more than when we started.

What an awesome day out it was and the GT350R was superb! Unfortunately I didn't go to the paddock to take a better look but I took some photos as it came back down the hill.

At that point, Ben Collins started doing donuts and a Porsche 918 was VERY close to crashing into it!!! I wonder what the two drivers said to each other afterwards. My friend has it on video so I will have to get it from him.

Also saw the new Focus RS and the Ford GT. It was easily the most beautiful thing there!!!!

Can't wait to go tomorrow! So what class of car is the Mustang 350R in? Just want to make sure I don't miss it doing the hill climb.

It's in the Super Car class. Also if you miss it on the way up, wait for the cars to come back down. You get a better view of them.
